I am sorry I've been derelict in my duty here. I woke up about 4:00 Sunday morning with a monstrous toothache. I can't believe how much it hurt. I ended up not sleeping at all, and by the time I got home Sunday, I loaded up on pain meds and passed out. I got to the dentist early yesterday, he numbed me up and then at Noon I ended up having emergency root canal.

I echo all of the sentiments here. I had a wonderful time and I can't say enough about the wonderful nature of everyone. I am constantly amazed at what a diverse group we are, and yet how well we all get along. We are of different ages, backgrounds and so on, but we all have such a wonderful time!

The Mignon family is always great to see. Mr. Babe and the Col. were deep in several conversations and we were so glad that he was finally able to join you and Becky this time around!

My sweet DMC! You are a blast, but maybe you should stop at 15 next year. And, as Sicilian Babette said to tell you, we really need to find you a girl!!

And I love my brother and sister-in-law DC and Mrs. Cardi. They are almost too much fun for one room!! We always have a great time talking to you guys, and I'm glad that a twist of fate allowed you to join us for dinner. It would NOT have been the same without you.

I was so happy to see SV at the table when we got to the restaurant! It was a very pleasant surprise. So glad that you were able to join us.

I think Saturday was split up into BGSM (Before Girl Scout Martini) and AGSM (After Girl Scout Martini) Strangely I still felt manlier drinking the Girl Scout Martini than I did drinking Corona last year lol

I just want to point out (for the sake of those who didn't attend) that even though the theme of most of these last few pages worth of posts involves alcohol the get-together was a helluva lot more than just drinking.

It was about getting together with friends. It was about sitting down and sharing dinner. It was about sharing our stories and sharing laughs. We know each other from the boards and taking it to the next level is a step some of us were fortunate enough to do. When you sit down and eat a meal with friends, and the conversation flows freely, and you laugh, and you listen, its better than anything else.

I wrote earlier about an old lady that stopped by our table and remarked how nice it was for friends to get together. I consider that our benediction, and that little old lady was quite observant.

I am reminded of our good friend, plawrence, who in the last two years of his life, realizing that he was dying, knew what was REALLY important - friendship! He loved getting together with the members and I totally understand "why". Guys and gals, don't wait until its too late... if you can't make one of these annual sit-downs, form your own groups closer to your homes. You won't be sorry!
