Manchester United defender Danny Simpson has committed himself to the club by signing a new deal until 2010. The 20-year-old full-back spent the second half of last season on loan at Sunderland and has since forced his way into the first team squad at United.
Simpson became Black Cats boss Roy Keane's first-choice right back, making 14 appearances as Sunderland went up.
The former United scholar also spent the first four months of last season on loan at Royal Antwerp in Belgium
