I guess I figured that if it was okay to let us slip down to a 58-73 record, nine games out of first, it was okay to leave everything else alone - which is why this comes as a shock.

Then again, I was at yesterday's game, and during the ceremony for Bagwell's number retirement, Purpura was introduced as one of the guests...and was booed by the crowd. I thought it was tacky to do that during Baggy's moment, but it was the people's voice as best as it could be represented.

Anyway, I'm pretty excited about Cecil Cooper. He's been our bench coach, and from what I can tell, he seems to know the game really well. I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

A nice, relaxing vacation with lots of pampering from a rather attentive hotel staff. If you ever have the opportunity to stay at a Ritz Carlton, do it. It's worth every single penny. The service and amenities are at a level that is NOT to be believed.

They're playing a Washington National's classic game when Vinny was on the team. I just got to see a close up shot of him when he made a play. They kept the camera on him for a few. Woo hoo! Life is good.

They rested Jeter today because he has a sore knee! It's bad enough that baseball is coming to an end, but do I have to have days without my Jeter????? At least the Yankees won!!
