For DE NIRO

Howard Wilkinson has resigned his position as technical director of Notts County - hours after chairman Jeff Moore announced his own departure.
Wilkinson managed the Magpies in 1982/83 before spells with Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds and Sunderland, and a stint as the FA's technical director.

He returned as a non-executive director of County in 2004, becoming technical director in June 2006.

But the club announced on Monday afternoon that he had resigned.

The duo's resignations came on the same day that Moore revealed that he would relinquish the chairmanship once the shareholders and board had elected his successor.

"When I was first approached to become chairman at the end of the 2005-06 season, I was surprised and flattered," Moore told County's website.

I no longer feel it is fair to Notts County to continue as chairman while being unable to afford the requisite amount of time

Departing Notts County chairman Jeff Moore
"But my position as chief executive of the East Midlands Development Agency (EMDA) is a full-time role.

"I no longer feel it is fair to Notts County to continue as chairman while being unable to afford the requisite amount of time."

County have also launched a five-year business plan entitled "Vision 2012", in which the club is aiming to reach the Championship within five years.

Good old England!
good old Michael Owen!

I hope Maclaren keeps this team for the next game(injuries permitting of course). It is the best looking side england have fielded for a couple of years!

Rooney in squad to face Everton

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed Wayne Rooney will travel to Goodison Park for tomorrow's Barclays Premier League fixture against Everton.

The 21-year-old, who has been out since fracturing his foot against Reading on the opening day of the season, has been training well for the Reds this week, according to Sir Alex. He is in the squad to face his former club, but the manager admitted he is unsure how Rooney will be used, if at all, against his former club.

"Rooney has trained very well," the Reds boss told reporters on Friday. "He'll travel with us to Goodison, but whether I start him, put him on the bench or leave him out until Wednesday, that's something I have to decide."

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the manager also confirmed that Louis Saha is ready for action after completing 45 minutes against Sunderland earlier this month, while the Reds are boosted by Cristiano Ronaldo's return from a three-match suspension.

Owen Hargreaves, who missed both of England's Euro 2008 qualifiers this week with a thigh strain, trained on Friday morning but remains doubtful for the Reds' trip to Merseyside.

"There's not a lot wrong with Owen," added the boss. "He trained well today (Friday). But I don't know whether we'll risk that against Everton. It's more likely he'll play in Lisbon on Wednesday."

The news isn't quite so good for Darren Fletcher and John O'Shea, who were both injured on Wednesday night playing for their countries. Fletcher limped off against France and could be out for six weeks, while O'Shea appeared to pick up a knee injury in the Republic Of Ireland's loss to the Czech Republic and also faces a couple of weeks on the sideline.

Good call there Yogi, Chelsea 0-0 Blackburn

Samba took quite a kick to the head in that game and had to be carried out. If any of you hear news about his health please keep me updated here! He is my favorite player now that I've watched a couple of games, that would be my luck if he is seriously hurt!

Also, Clint Dempsey scored again for Fulham. Thats awesome, love to see the Americans do good.

Emmanuel Adebayor scored twice as Arsenal came from behind to beat Spurs and go top of the Premier League.

Gareth Bale curled in a 15th-minute free-kick to put Tottenham ahead before Paul Robinson twice denied Adebayor.

Abou Diaby hit the bar as Arsenal pushed on, then Dimitar Berbatov was thwarted by a last-ditch Kolo Toure tackle and Adebayor blazed over.

Arsenal equalised when Adebayor nodded in before Cesc Fabregas' drive put them ahead and Adebayor volleyed a third.

Chelsea suffered frustration at the hands of determined Blackburn as the Blues were held at Stamford Bridge.
Blackburn keeper Brad Friedel kept Chelsea at bay with a fine save from Michael Essien and a vital late block from Andriy Shevchenko.

Chelsea were furious when Salomon Kalou's 57th-minute close-range finish was controversially ruled offside.

Petr Cech saved well from Robbie Savage, while Blackburn lost defender Christopher Samba with a head injury.

Sheffield United 3-1 Wolves
James Beattie's second-half double helped Sheffield United to come from behind to beat Wolves at Bramall Lane.
Stephen Elliott had put Wolves ahead, slamming home the rebound after Stephen Ward's shot hit keeper Paddy Kenny.

But Beattie levelled after the break when he pounced on a weak defensive header to head past Wayne Hennessey.

When Gary Breen brought down Beattie, the striker added a second from the penalty spot, and Jon Stead tapped in United's third in stoppage time.

Notts County 1-0 Dag & Red
Neil MacKenzie grabbed the only goal as draw specialists Notts County finally recorded their first win of the season.
In a poor first half, Jason Lee had the best chance but his header was turned away by Daggers keeper Tony Roberts.

Substitute MacKenzie had only been on the pitch for 10 minutes when Spencer Weir-Daley headed down, and he finished from eight yards after 83 minutes.

Shane Huke had Dagenham's best chance but he volleyed wide from a corner as County held on in stoppage time.

If you missed the Arsenal Spurs match, I recommend watching it because it was a great game.

And I just finished watching some other and great to see Liverpool and Chelsea drop points.

Ze Maria set for Blades transfer

Ze Maria played 43 times for Brazil
Sheffield United boss Bryan Robson is confident of completing a deal for Brazilian trialist Ze Maria next week.
The 34-year-old former Inter Milan, Parma and Perugia defender has been training with Robson's squad this week after leaving Spanish side Levante.

Robson said: "I'm going to make a decision on Ze Maria early next week.

"I'll be speaking to him and the people involved with him and if we can come to some agreement there's every chance I will take him on board."

Ze Maria left Levante during the summer and has recently been linked with a return to Italy with Lazio.

He can play at right-back or on the right wing and has won 43 caps for Brazil in total.
