For those fans of TRANSFORMERS dying to get their hands on the DVD or for those who skipped it at the theaters, mark October 16th down on your calendar as the release date!

And for those fans super pumped to buy DEATH PROOF on the 18th of this month (Blibble I'm looking primarily in your direction), then buy/order it through Best Buy because they are offering a Best Buy Exclusive. The difference is the cover is a metal tin a la THE DEPARTED and I've heard rumors of a bonus third disc but don't quote me on that just yet. The same treatment will be given to PLANET TERROR when it arrives on DVD next month on October 16th.

I'm going to wait on Death Proof until they release it the way it was shown in the theater as Grindhouse. I mean Death Proof was my favorite of the two, but as we've discussed before, the whole experience of seeing a double feature with fake trailers was what made it fun. So I'm going to have to be patient and hope they release them in it's original form eventually.

I'm going to get both because this has the special features. I think when they release GRINDHOUSE itself, it probably won't have any special features.

20th Century Fox has announced the DVD and Blu-ray Disc release of Live Free and Die Hard on 11/20. There will be THREE versions on DVD, including single-disc PG-13 and Unrated editions (SRP $29.98 each), as well as an Unrated Two-Disc Edition (SRP $34.98). Strangely, it seems that the Blu-ray Disc version will contain only the PG-13 version (SRP $39.98) - a revelation that has many Blu-ray fans up in arms (it's basic common sense that anyone who's going to pay extra for the Blu-ray wants the unrated cut too). The single-disc DVDs will contain Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, audio commentary by Bruce Willis, director Len Wiseman and editor Nicolas De Toth, the Guyz Nite' Die Hard music video and a behind-the-scenes featurette on the video. The two-disc set will add the 10-part Analog Hero in a Digital World: Making of Live Free or Die Hard documentary, the Yippee-Ki-Yay Mother F*****! featurette, the Fox Movie Channel Presents Fox Legacy video and the film's theatrical trailer. The Blu-ray version will feature AVC encoded 1080p video, DTS HD Lossless 5.1 and Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, the Black Hat Intercept! BD-Java game, D-Box compatibility, several high-def trailers and all the standard-definition DVD extras (save again for the uncut version of the film - we'll confirm that with the studio).

Yeah, I'll be getting the unrated 2-disc special edition. Probably just more profanity (which we can only hope)

I second that emotion, but aside from that, the film was very good. It stood on it's own and hopefully won't fall into the category of "hey, that's the movie Christina Ricci shows her tits in"

Good choices chopper. Personally, I'd rank them THE DEPARTED, MEAN STREETS, and finally SMOKIN' ACES. However, most here would probably put MEAN STREETS before THE DEPARTED. Enjoy and I look forward to reading your reviews of them

I have just finished watching the Departed i thought this was an excellent movie Di Caprio played his part well as did Nicholson and i thought Ray Winstone was good as well although i wish they had given him more as i think he is an excellent actor, the one problem i had was Matt Damon i didnt rate him at all in this movie and i think his part would have been better suited to somebody else but all in all i enjoyed the movie.

tommorow Mean Streets

Glad you enjoyed it chopper. In my opinion, THE DEPARTED was Scorsese's best film since CASINO and maybe even as far back as GOODFELLAS

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I don't understand why so many here in the past think Scorsese winning Best Director and Best Picture for this film was a pity Oscar

I used to, but now not so much. Maybe the kid's getting too big. However, the first season was hilarious.

I just got Without a Trace's first season on DVD. My husband was at the Giants game on Sunday. I had to run some errands, take care of some housework, take the girls shopping, but at about 4:30, I put my feet up, clicked on the DVD player for some "me" time, and just as the opening credits rolled, heard my husband's key in the door.

In the past other members here would have crucified you for saying that but hopefully those days are behind us for good. I'm of the philosophy of every man/woman is entitled to their own opinion (whether I agree with it or not). Glad you liked THE DEPARTED and MEAN STREETS. SMOKIN' ACES I thought was enjoyable but towards the end become too dramatic. Piven was awesome and hilarious, making the film lighthearted, but again, the ending was too much for me.

Well, you're from England, Chopper, so MEAN STREETS may not appeal to you. Not that it's just an American movie, it's a New York movie. I think MS appeals mostly to NYC people, who remember Little Italy before it became the tourist trap it later became. Actually, it's hardly that anymore, just a couple of blocks worth of stores and a few Italian flags. So I understand if you didn't really "get it." However, in my opinion it's still a far better film than SMOKING ACES (which I liked) and it's at least as good as THE DEPARTED.

First time I saw or began to like Ryan Reynolds was in NATIONAL LAMPOON'S: VAN WILDER. Ever since then I've been a fan.
