CNN.com -- Police: Who is the little girl in the sex tape?

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (AP) -- Authorities trying to aid two girls seen in a sexually explicit videotape say they have identified one and were showing images of the other Thursday in the hopes that someone would recognize her.

The tape was turned in to police by a man who said he found it in the desert.

It shows a man performing sex acts on a girl around 4 or 5 years old, and shows a girl believed to be 10 to 12 years old appearing in "some kind of peep show," said Nye County sheriff's detective David Boruchowitz.

Authorities hope identifying the girls will help them locate the abuser.

Still photos of the younger girl, fully clothed, have been widely broadcast. Boruchowitz announced Thursday that the older girl had been identified.

He said the photos of the younger girl were being released because her life could be in danger.

"She could still be in this situation and (be) abused currently as we speak," Boruchowitz said.

"The easiest way to explain it is if you can imagine the absolute worst things that can happen to a little girl at the hands of an adult male, that has happened and beyond," he said of the video. "It is by far the most heinous and horrible thing that you can possibly imagine on there."

The older girl did not appear to have been sexually abused on the tape and the footage appeared to have been shot from a different room, Boruchowitz said.

Investigators were examining whether the two segments were filmed with the same video camera, he said.

A 26-year-old Pahrump man, Darren Tuck, surrendered the tape to Nye County sheriff's investigators September 8, after another man reported seeing it, Boruchowitz said.

Tuck told detectives he found the videotape in the desert outside Pahrump more than five months ago, although Boruchowitz said the tape didn't appear to have been exposed to weather or elements.

Investigators think the tape is less than two years old, a sheriff's office official told CNN.

Boruchowitz said investigators don't think Tuck made the tape. Tuck was arrested September 19 on charges of promoting child pornography and possession of child pornography, felonies. The top charge carries a possible sentence of up to life in prison.

Tuck was released without bail, pending arraignment November 26 in Pahrump Justice Court, a court official said.

Pahrump is a small town 60 miles west of Las Vegas.

I read this story this morning and wanted to cry. This poor innocent child. I pray to God they find this child and capture the demon that is holding her and show him no mercy whatsoever.
The following paragraph really gave me the chills, made me cringe and made me fearful for this poor baby all in one sweeping emotion. I hate sad stories like these that involved children.

To my knowledge, nobody has identified this little girl yet right? And, wasn't this video about 3 years old? Can you imagine when the parent recognizes the child?

I don't know if you remember the Eton Patz case. The boy simply vanished a half a block from school. His mom walked him to the corner, he turned and waved, and never showed up to school. He's never been found, and nobody was ever convicted. However, they're pretty sure that a convicted child molester who died in prison took him, although he died before they could take him to trial. I may be getting the some of the facts mixed up, so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Our first instinct is to always to protect our children. I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to open up the paper and to see your child's face staring back at you.

And not to change the subject, but does anyone know the latest in the McCann case?? I know that the parents were suspects, but I haven't heard much since that announcement.

Last I heard, the parent were not suspects anymore. The Portugal police, I hear, may have jumped to quickly to accuse them..at least that's the rumor.

Earlier in the week they aired a photo of a little girl with some woman. They thought it "could" have been her, but found it wasn't. The more time that goes by, the harder it is to imagine she'll be found alive. And yet, it could happen. I feel for the parents.

They found the little girl in the video and she is safe with her family. Finally!!! Now send the poor thing to therapy and maybe she can have a somewhat normal life. The piece of shit and/or "person of interest" is also in custody.

I'm so glad she's out of there.

Thank God that she's been found, and is finally safe, where she can't be harmed any longer. May God bless and heal this baby and bring her some peace. May He also give her family the strength and courage to help her through this ordeal.

Well, evidently they don't have the suspect because I am watching Larry King right now and they say they are looking for the suspect. I guess the person in custody is the man who said he "found" the video in the desert. Police were suspicious because he said he found it 5 months ago. Gee, ya think?

They are showing the police interview about this case now. The head investigator is thanking the media and all the people who have helped. He said that they have actually gotten tips from people in prison giving them ideas where this guy may be. Oh yea!!!! I think life in prison may be his just desserts. They probably can't wait to get ahold of him.

I'm very confused by this story. It sounded like this little girl was not missing. He was doing this to her without her family's knowledge, but she was not kidnapped? Does anyone know if that's true? They're being quiet about details, but it sounded to me like that was the case.

It IS confusing. I am hearing that she may have been entrusted to this guy by her family and/or it's someone the family knows??? If so, I have a lot of questions. Where was the mother/father? Did they not talk to, see her, check-up on this girl???? I can understand them keeping her name out of the papers, but I would like to know how this girl was taken or "given" to this guy. We can't pass judgement because we don't know what happened, but I am curious.

It looks to me as if the authorities are keeping a lot of details quiet. They seem to be giving partial explanations that in truth are very confusing because we aren't being told everything.

They're definitely keeping things out of the media, perhaps until they catch this guy.

I start my classes by showing the class the Missing and Exploited children's website. I also show them the County's and the FBI's Most Wanted. All of these people live next to someone and there's no reason why they couldn't live next to you.

I also invite them to tell me if they have been or are being abused. Some are still in high school, so they still may be. Also, if they were abused, it may not have been all that long since they were and the abuser is still out there.

Yes, you should not be disappointed. The more such abuse is exposed and discussed, the greater chance there is that it can be affected by such exposure and discussion.
