Yes Olivant it was. In Egypt there were Coptics and Gnostics within years of Jesus' death.


Well, you'll have to give me a reference onboth of those.

St. Mark brought Christianity to Alexandria and the earliest dating of his arrival there is 48AD. There isn't a reliable dating of Gnostic's arrival in Egypt that I am aware of.
