It is POURING rain here.... we have a Flash Flood Warning for the area.... my street looks like a river!

Long Island's been getting some real Old Testament weather lately.

We had a morning drizzle and nothing after that. It's been warm and overcast all day. But tomorrow...I take my winter coat out of storage. The calendar tells me it is time.

Tell me about it.... there's some guy down on the corner with a big boat and he's collecting animals in pairs.

Uh oh.... its OFFICIAL now!! klydon's winter coat is coming out of storage!!!

I may come out that way tomorrow, SC, to pick up a couple of new overcoats at S&B in Farmingdale, if the island doesn't sink by then.

Give me a call if you do come out. I know a decent Chinese restaurant there (in Farmingdale).

Funny, the three of us will probably be within a mile or two of each other tomorrow. I'm going to a 50th Surprise party over in Massapequa.

Massapequa's beautiful. If you're anywhere near the water, you've got the right weather.

Last time we were out there in the summer, our good friends brought us to a restaurant/fish house on the beach somewhere in that area. Nothing fancy mind you. You go inside, pick your meal, order and pay for it, then walk out and sit down, and then they bring it out to you. A real old fashioned fish house type place.

You eat on wooden benches overlooking the water, and they have a band playing.

The lobsters, shrimps and crab cakes were served in baskets, the linguine and shrimp or chicken were served in these giant metal bowls, and I must tell you that the food was outstanding.


You have family or friends over there PB?

Yeah, actually I do. My cousin Melissa and her family live out there, right on the water.

You have me fantasizing about that fish place. I'm gonna call her today and ask her if she's familiar with it.

These threads are really gonna make me fat!

I'll find out exactly what beach it is on and exactly what town it is in from my buddy and let you know.

I'm going out to Farmingdale tomorrow morning. I'm going to bring my Dad, then spend the afternoon at Belmont on the way in. We'll be in the Garden Terrace Dining Room, in the 4th floor clubhouse, if you'd like to stop by. It's a great place to watch the games on Sunday, too.

I was going to go this afternoon, then my Dad called me and mentioned Belmont for tomorrow, so I figured to kill two birds with one stone.

Ahhh too bad. I'm leaving in about 10 minutes, should get there by 5:30 or so and hoped that you, SC and I could meet for a quick drink as I don't have to be at the party until 7:30ish.

Oh well. Maybe another day.

Somebody broke in to my truck and stole my girlfriends purse that had my set of keys and my paycheck and all of her ID...



My stepson had a baseball tournament today and while we were inside the place watching his game, at a family oriented function, people went around and broke into several other vehicles as well. This is about the closest I've ever been to wanting to actually do physical harm to somebody. If only I could meet the person(s) who did this.

That's horrible Bibble!! I'm sure you'll stop paymenton your paycheck and stop all the credit cards, etc. What a pain in the ass. I'd be pissed off too. I hope they catchthe bastards.

This doesn't compare to losing your check and credit cards, but shows you that some trashy people don't care who they steal from or where. When my daughter was 6 years old she made her First Commmunion. Parents were bringing a desert for a reception afterward. I made a nice cake, making sure to tape my first and last name on the bottom of the cake dish. We left the receiption, but I left the cake there becaue people were still eating. I figure I'd get it later that night or the next day.

When I went to get it later, the people at the church looked, I looked and it just wasn't there. Even the workers at the church said, "somebody probably took it." No, it wasn't an expensive cake dish, nor a family heirloom, but it was mine and I liked it. Obviously it wasn't worth me throwing a fit about, but I did think to myself, "how lowdown to steal something from a church event." I hate theives.

I know that feeling (having been ripped off myself).

Isn't it odd that we meet and play here on a board dedicated to a movie that basically glamorizes a crime Family and we mostly have "fond" feelings towards that Family? Yet, when we're the victims of a crime we actually get to feel the pain that this Family can cause.

Blibble, this should serve as a (hard) lesson learned.... never leave any valuables in an unattended vehicle. (As I said, I learned this the hard way, too).

Doesn't it just make your blood boil?? There has been so many times where I thought "Wow, I really like that, and it would be so easy to take it." But I don't. I couldn't. My guilt would eat me up. What makes thieves, or criminals in general, different? What is missing, or possibly added, to their brain that allows them to do things without guilt?



LESSON LEARNED!

What really adds salt to the wound was every family member has said in a condescending manner "Oh, you should NEVER leave valuables in the car!" Thanks for telling me now! Even though they have never lost anything to robbers, same as me.

I wish I could take one shot at the nose of whoever is responsible for this. Plus a kick to their nuts (or vagina... I'm not sexist) for personal satisfaction.

EDIT: My girlfriend says "If it were a woman, don't kick her in the vagina... give her two really hard titty twisters. It'll hurt her more."

Speaking of vaginas, SNL had a funny skit. On their newscast they reported a woman gave birth to a 17 pound baby. It was her 12th child.

Her vagina went into hiding.

Anyone hearing about the fire in Malibu??? I'm not in the Malibu area, but I know the Santa Ana winds have just kicked up here and they are very very strong. It's so dry here, add the fire/wind and it really does become a wildfire.

Btw, I think Zia is in Malibu (or the area). Hope all is well.

About twelve hours ago, I was just getting out of a Phil Lesh (bassist of the Grateful Dead) show in which Trey Anastasio performed as a special guest for all five hours of the gig, and I was in the pit, front row, up against the guard-rail.

I've never seen so many hippies at once.

I just finished reading The Gift by Pete Hamill. It was termed a "novel" but its obviously autobiographical. It was a very short book, about a young man who gets Christmas leave from basic training during the Korean War, and returns home to Brooklyn. I highly recommend it to our Brooklynites, as well as Hamill's other two books that I've read, Snow in August and North River.

Its making the news here, TIS. They showed Pepperdine U. being partially evacuated and the fire crossing the PCH.

What I don't understand is why people keep on building homes and businesses there when they know that this type of fire is going to keep coming back year after year.
