Congrats SC.

I refuse to watch tonight. IMO, it's a foregone conclusion that the Indians will lose - it's just a matter of by how much and whether it's a painful loss in the bottom of the 9th or another blowout.

Carmona and Sabathia are complete chokejobs. I knew in the first inning that the first two infield hits would have huge consequences. And I fully expect one of two things to happen with Dice-K tonight: either he'll throw a 2 hitter or he'll be gone by the 3rd inning and Beckett will shut the Indians down just like Pedro did in the 99 ALDS.

I have already seen the way this movie ends countless times. It's never going to be Cleveland's turn.

Congrats SC. Did you get the text I sent you?

We were listening to it on the radio last night on our way home from Amish country. When I heard they got a grand slam I new it was over. If the tribe wins tonight that is great, wonderful but if they lose then so be it. I am so proud they got this far. Bun can they take Hafner out of the line up and put someone in who will actually get on base?

Boston's playing beautifully so far. But that was a nice double play by Cleveland just now.

the Indians shouldn't be worried at all. the Nationals should. Sabathia and Carmona may be "chokejobs" but at least they are darn good the whole regular season. and in my opinion you just can't judge a pitcher based on 2 starts against the Yankees and the Red Sox, even if he has a 20 .ERA

anyway, congrats to the AL champions and posibly World Series champions Red Sox. if the Rockies win this thing, they are sick!

Congratulations, SC. The Red Sox played very well, and got solid outings from Schilling and Matsuzaka. I've watched Pedroia all season, and the more I see him, the more I think he's going to be a star for years to come.

The World Series will showcase the rookies of the year, in my opinion, Pedroia and Tulowitsky.

It will be interesting to see what the Sox do with Ortiz in Colorado. He'll probably be used only as a pinch hitter, I suspect. They'd probably consider sticking him at first base, but Youkilis is too good in the field and at the plate to bench.

Going by the the reaction here I already feel bad for our Cleveland fans here on the BB. They may have choked, but it's not like that were up 3-0 against the Red Sox and ended up losing the series like the Yankees did ;\)

Congratulations SC on your AL Championship! Good luck against the Rockies! Lets see if your hopes come true with the Rockies being off for over a week. Maybe they have cooled off in that time.

I have to say though, your freakin' Red Sox just won a World Series Championship a couple of years ago. So as JG said...

GO !!!

Good point. Ortiz has only DH'd and played first in his major league career. They're certainly not gonna risk putting him in the outfield and with Youkilis' bat on fire they're faced with a dilemma ... do you go with a good fielder/hot batter now OR do you put in a fair fielder who is arguably the best post-season hitter in the league? In any event, the Sox will be losing a BIG bat in their lineup.

C'mon... you gotta give them credit. I believe you picked them to lose in 5 games... they ended up coming within a [BadWord]'s hair of winning it all. (I didn't think they'd do as well as they did against the Sox). Choke? I think they played over their heads.

Its all a matter of perspective, I guess.

FWIW - Asdrubal Cabrera and Jhonny Peralta GREATLY impressed me and are gonna be forces to reckon with in the future.

The Indians played scared starting in Game 5 - there is no getting around the fact. I can't really comment about last night since I did not watch any of it. Boston's past playoff experience carried them.

For Irishman to call the Indians chokers is ironic considering the Yankees own the distinction of being the only team in MLB history to ever blow a 3-0 playoff lead. The Indians had less than 5 players on their roster with postseason experience and it would have been an upset to beat Boston. The 2004 all-time choke of the Yankees had nearly an entire roster of players with playoff experience, so there is zero excuse for such a monumental collapse. I know facts like that are too often overlooked by Irishman.

The predictable comeback that I was waiting for. Sure the Yankees choked in 2004, but the Indians choked in 2007. What have they done for you lately? Ask me again in another 1,094 days ;\) True they weren't suppose to beat Beckett but they should have got the win against either Schilling or Dice-K. You can point the finger at the Yankees and say they choked this year, but the Indians have to look themselves in the mirror as well and say we choked. Remember, the Yankees didn't have a 3-1 cushion ;\)

Also, why if the Indians beat Boston is it an upset but the Indians beating the Yankees isn't

C'mon Irish, the Yankees didn't have a cushion because they weren't good enough to win this year. I love the fact that you're so loyal to your team, but you have to accept reality. Most baseball beat writers, outside of New York, had Yanks-Indians at pick 'em. As for the Red Sox? Well, anyone beating them would be an upset. When they're playing thier best baseball, they are the best team in baseball. Hands down.

Exactly my point. Cleveland supposedly was good enough to win this year and they didn't, they choked. Don't get me wrong, I'm pissed because I wanted Cleveland to win. Now Boston will roll all over Colorado.

Maybe so, but when the Yankees are playing their best baseball, they can beat BOTH Cleveland and Boston (just look to the regular season for examples).
