I'm very familiar with the Von Erich's, DC. They are, as you said, among the best wrestlers who ever lived. Hell, travel to ANY part of Texas, and you'll find just as many people who worship the Von Erich family as there are people who worship God. To some, there's no difference.
But what may even be a bigger legend than the Von Erich family is the legendary "Von Erich curse." Four of the five eldest sons in the Von Erich family all died within a 10 year period of each other. Michael, Kerry, and Chris all committed suicide, while David's death is still disputed to this day. Kevin is the sole survivor of the Adkisson clan (their birth names were actually Adkisson, not Von Erich.)
Another famous wrestling family that seems to be cursed is the Hart family. Whereas the Von Erich's are arguably the most famous wrestling family in the US, the Hart family is the most famous in Canada, and quite possibly the entire world. While only 2 of the original Hart kids have died (Owen and Dean), a large number of their extended family (as well as a number of the Harts' closest friends) have died.
Dean Hart was diagnosed with Bright's disease during the 80s and eventually succumbed to kidney failure.
Owen Hart was killed in a tragic accident that saw him entering the ring from a zip line about 80 feet up in the air. The device malfunctioned, and he fell to his death.
"British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith (husband of Diana Hart) died of an apparent heart attack. The autopsy showed it was caused from years of steroid abuse.
Brian Pillman died of heart disease, which had gone un-diagnosed.
"Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig (close friend of the Harts) died of acute cocaine intoxication.

I think its horrible that DH Smith was caught using steroids after his father was killed because of them. It IS horrible, but you hear stories like this all the time in pro-wrestling. Hell, just a couple months ago when all those wrestlers got suspended for steroid use, wanna know who was among them? Chavo Guerrero. And why did his good ol' Uncle Eddie die? Past steroid abuse was a big contributing factor. But you gotta figure, steroids are openly available in EVERY sport. It's gotta be hard to fight that temptation. An athlete says "I only need to gain maybe 10, 15 lbs. Then I'll stop taking them." When they see how quick and easy it is to put on muscle by juicing, rather than putting in the hard work, they say "Why the hell not?" But like all users and addicts, whether it's drugs or something like gambling, they've got that "one more time" mentality. It killed Eddie Guerrero. It killed Davey Boy Smith. And it killed countless others, and it'll kill many more.

-As upset as I am that Michaels didn't win the title tonight, I can't say I'm surprised. I'm glad though that the Undertake didn't win it against Batista
-Also, remember, Chris Jericho will be on Raw tomorrow
-Anyone watching TNA on Thursday? Booker T himself made his Impact debut Damn that Edge for helping out Batista I was really hoping Shawn would win. Yea I seen TNA but I didn't see it till Saturday night. Yep King Booker is back to Booker T. I don't watch TNA that much. I wonder who else from WWE will go to TNA in the future. Will Miz and Morrison go to Smackdown now since they have the tag team belts now?

...and the WWE has become watchable for the first time in six years, for me at least. Abso-Fucking-Lutely. Damn, I not only miss Jericho the ring-worker....but his promos too. He's a better heel than face, but fuck it...he's back. That's all I care about. But whats with the gay outfit?

I was so glad that Y2J ruined Orton's passing of the torch. I would love to punch him in his face. My son didn't want me to mute the tv when Jillian started to cackle. But I did anyways. I am tired of seeing the same matches all the time. Umaga vs Jeff Hardy or Hardcore Holly vs Cody Rhodes. Why is Y2J back?

How hurt was Matt Hardy on Smackdown last Friday? Some reports claim he's alright, that its simply part of the storyline. But usually, such episodes are penned so that wrestlers could get legitimate time off to heal, and a kayfabe excuse to boot. As I've told some people, a Finlay/MVP program for the US belt would sell.

Yeah, me either really but I'm happy Edge has the belt. Him and Rey are probably my favorite wrestlers on Smackdown Meanwhile, Shelton still doesn't matter on ECW. No, I feel great about Jeff Hardy's recent success and arguably, he is main event finally after all these years. But using traditional Wrestling Logic, the person who gets the win or morale victory on the last episode BEFORE a PPV always loses at the PPV.
