I think Derke Jeter is good enough reason to resurrect the Ladies Thread.

Baseball hotties Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez are both Yankees, amazing ballplayers, toweringly handsome, expensively moisturized and extremely well paid.

But they were distinctly divergent this weekend in New York, when TMZ spotted Jeter filming a spot for Gatorade's new lo-cal G2 energy drink, and A-Rod getting his morning paper from a local newsstand. While Jeter gabbed and signed for everyone in sight, A-Rod kept his distance, though oddly enough, so did fans. Aloof, party of one!

A-Rod did reveal that he's not a New York Post guy -- he's a Times man, thanks very much.

I hope you are all doing well. How have things been?

I'm finally free from school for the Christmas break, having just finished finals...and I'm ready to catch up on all the sleep I lost throughout this term. haha

Big news for the Astros today - we traded away five players to get Miguel Tejada. My impression of the deal is biased because one of the guys we let go of was Luke Scott, the hero and love interest (fiancee?) of my good friend who developed an obsession with baseball just this season. Our acquisition of Michael Bourn moved Hunter Pence from center field to right, which pushed Scott out of the picture. Also, this Tejada deal leaves Adam Everett out...the club doesn't have plans to make him any offers.

I guess any action is better than no action from a GM, but I'm scared to confront the new team in April. There will be a lot of changes!

Thanks for the congrats - it's been wonderful. I've really enjoyed the new experiences and the change in lifestyle.

My cuteness scale? haha Well, whatever rank I would otherwise give him is tainted by his involvement in baseball's steroid era. As I watched ESPN and noticed the names of the central figures in this deal, I was saddened to see that three of the four were on the Astros at some point - Clemens, Pettitte, and Tejada.

Wow! How the heck did they meet??

And more importantly: when are they going to set you up with El Caballo??
