Well done. I loved the reindeer. That was even better than the dogs barking Jingle Bells.

A bit bitter, Blibble?

My mom's ready to kill one of my cats. We just moved, so they're inside the house a lot more - and this one's just a big wuss. Always meowing.

LN, that's a beautiful picture of your cat. He's got the same 'evil eyes' that mine gets when he's playing with a toy.

THIRSTY THURSDAY!!!

Long as I remember The rain been coming down.
Clouds of Mystery pouring Confusion on the ground.
Good men through the ages, Trying to find the sun;
And I wonder, Still I wonder, Who'll stop the rain.

The forecast yesterday called for very heavy rains, lots of wind and certain areas are on flood watch. \:o

Ok, since it takes be about an hour to go to work, and since I have 185 sick days accumulated \:D and since traffic is bad enough on a regular day, let alone a rainy day (Californians don't know how to drive in the rain), I thought Friday would be a good day to call in sick, so I did.

Anyway, the weather people piss me off. They always always predict storms of the centuries only to "revise" the forecast when it doesn't storm when they said? Rain in the morning, some wind. It's modified considerably. It's easy to change when you wake up and find you forecasted it wrong. I swear California weather people have no extraordianarily bad weather to report (excluding earthquakes of course)that they dream of a storm scenario.

Oh, I'll enjoy my day off for sure. It's just that I probably would have gone in today if they hadn't forecasted a miserable storm. Then again it is gloomy and a nice day to be inside. I guess I'll just appreciate any time off.

Good for you TIS. You have 185 sick days??? \:o Care to cash them in..haha. I had about 180 hours of vacation time, and I thought I ?as doing good.

I actually was out sick Wednesday and yesterday. My co-workers tell me I look like shit and should have stayed home. I'm glad to know they love me so much. It's about 18 degrees out, so I wish I would still be home under my blanket.

Hi there Beth!!! \:\) I'll enjoy my time off for sure. They orginally predicted heavy rain and possible "thunder" storms (thunderstorms are rare here) through the entire weekend. I miss the big ol' thunder boomers from back home. \:\(

Anyway, as far as sick days go, that's twenty years worth of accumulation. What am I nuts, for not calling in much all those years? Anyway, it'll all work out cause I can put those days toward my retirement which will give me more money.

I guess you never really know, but I'm at the point where the few times a year I do call in, I'll just tell my boss that I'm calling in sick tomorrow. I just didn't do it this time. Plus, being so old and having so much time in, I really feel comfortable saying, "what are ya gonna do, fire me?"

Oh, and nobody, work or home knows that my ultra ego is "The Italian Stallionette. ;\) Wouldn't they all get a laugh.

That's ok TIS. Most Baltimorans don't know how to drive in the sun.

As a pedestrian I yell at them only to be told, "If you don't like the way I drive get off the sidewalk".

Beth,

California is know for being big wusses. Last summer in Vegas, when my daughter and I took the shuttle from hell (if you remember), and a couple other times, the driver would say, "Now if there is anyone from California, remember this is NOT California. You cross the street only when it says walk or you 'WILL' get run over. Here, the pedestrian can pretty much cross anytime/anywhere he/she wishes.

TIS

BTW Beth, you considering Vegas if the BB meets there this summer?

I'm considering it. I'm also considering what to take for a knock out drug for during the flight. \:\)

Have you flown before? It's not as bad as you may think. For me, the takeoff still makes me just a tad nervous, but not from any kind of bad experience....just the fact of hearing the wheels leave the ground.

As far as drugs, hmmmmm smoke a joint before takeoff. You'll be real mellow.

Yeah... I know how to drive in the rain. The harder it rains the less I want to be on the road driving in it. So I drive as fast as I can so I can get out of the rain sooner. Everyone else seems to do the same thing. Californians are great drivers!

I'm glad it doesn't snow here because I don't know if I could handle the high speeds and rapid sharp turns of the steering wheel needed to drive on icy roads.

They predicted snow in the mountains around here this weekend, but I don't know if that'll happen. It's been so many years since I've driven in the snow, that I honestly wonder if I am not now a "SoCal wuss driver." Or, if it's something that would come back to me. Don't know if I could do it again. It takes a whole other kind of skill I think.

I've only flown twice. Once for a business trip to Chicago, which is not even 1 1/2 hours. Then I had to take connecting flights when I went to New Mexico, which totalled about 5 1/2 hours. I was so ready to see land after that. \:\)

I am assuming you'd get a nonstop to Vegas no? What, about 4/5 hours? It does take a couple times to get use to it and as comfortable as I am flying now, I think it's normal to get a tad nervous but it disappears quickly. \:\)

For me, it's a dream flight to Vegas. About 30 minutes and your there. I love it. \:\)

30 minutes I could definitely do. I'd probably be in bankruptcy because I'd always want to go. \:\)

The two times I flew I was by myself. I guess as long as I'm "smoked up" and have someone with me it won't be as terrifying. I too hate the take off. I feel like I'm in a spaceship.
