I had sent SB a PM after noticing she'd been missing for a while. Once I read PB's and JG's posts here, wondering where she'd been, and after seeing she hadn't read my PM yet, I emailed her. She wrote back: I have been taking a break from the board, but not voluntarily! My laptop crashed, and my IT guy has been promising me a replacement for about a week now. I've actually tried going on the site from a borrowed computer, but I was not able to log in. It would allow me to log in, but then when I clicked on my PMs, it would say I wasn't logged in. Rather frustrating. I'm actually using my mother's computer right now, so I have rather limited access to email, etc., just whenever I can beg and borrow some computer time from others. Please let JG know that I'm fine, but am rather bored. I can't even get any work done, because my client list was on my database on the hard drive of my laptop!! I'm bored out of my gourd. Thursday will be two weeks since my laptop died, and I am a tad angry at the company's IT consultant, to say the least!!! And: Love to everyone on the boards. I miss them!!! I'm glad she's okay, and hope she gets back soon!!

Sheriff pulls up "What are you doing over there in the ditch?"
I say "Thought It'd be a good place to park" Valet: Hey! You can't park your car here! Duke: Huh? Why not? Is this not a reasonable place to park? Valet: Reasonable? You're on the sidewalk!

Mig, Have you ordered a lot of things from Amazon before? I have and must admit, I've never had any problems whatsoever. It's easy to order, they keep shipping addresses you've used saved; they keep you updated on the status of your shipment. Last year I accidently stepped on my Mob Hits CD so I ordered another one. Evidently it was out of stock. They immediately let me know and asked if I still wanted to go with the order; and every week I'd get notification that they still didn't have it and if I wanted to cancel the order I had that option. I wasn't in a huge rush since it wasn't a gift or anything, so I just keep picking the "proceed with order" option. They let me know when it shipped and what day I could expect it. I've been very satisfied with them. TIS

It's far past the delivery date and the store claims that UPS is at fault and UPS claims the store is at fault.

I've never had a problem with Amazon, although, price-wise, you can usually do much better on other sites. Serious?? Amazon is usually the cheapest (by far) whenever I'm looking for something (at least from a reputable/established site) I've never had a problem with Amazon either - in fact, they've impressed me more than anyone (getting things earlier than expected for instance) I've been so out of it this season that it'll be the first time in YEARS that I didn't shop online. The time just crept up way too quickly this year for some reason

I actually had my first problem with Amazon this year. I got my college books from sellers on Amazon last spring and this past fall. I ended up not getting one of my books, but my credit card company refunded me the $70 on my card AND my dad's card, which is clutch. We only bought the book with my dad's card.

There's a difference between Amazon's service and buying from other individuals through Amazon... the latter probably isn't any more reliable than ebay, tho the few times I've done it I haven't had any problems...
