the bottom 3 from the premiership moved down to the championship,the top 2 from the championship and the winning team from the play offs (3rd-6th Place) get promoted to the premiership.

What happens if the winning team from the playoffs is also one of the top two teams?

Only the teams that finish 3rd,4th,5th and 6th go into the play-offs. The top two go straight up nothing else for them..

Thanks for all the information, that really helps. The whole idea of relegation is new to me since we don't have it in American sports. It would probably make certain teams (the owners) try harder if that were put into place for sports like Baseball.

I reverse my decision on "wanting Newcastle relegated". That's absolute total garbage.
