I do some volunteer work for the New York City and Westchester County Library systems. These kids, 12, 13, 14 years old, come in after school to use the Internet. When I see the sites they're on, it makes my skin crawl. I don't want to sound like a cranky old man, but these "networking" sites, like myspace, should have serious restrictions. I'm lobbying to block these sites from the public access computers here in the city. But it won't do any good. I absolutely despise Myspace with a burning passion, but I, personally, wouldn't go so far as to block it. Freedom of the web, and all that stuff. But, you know, I'm a crazy liberal and what-not. There are certain freedoms that are really for adults only, but I know what you're saying. I'm not sure if you were being serious or not, but this is probably the funniest thing I've read all day.

My daughter called to say her neck hurts, so she probably has whiplash. Does she have any pain into her shoulders or arms? Ambulance chaser! By the way, those guys doing chin-ups 1200 feet above the ground made me weak in the knees.

A little over a month into 2008, and I've already heard four albums that I would describe as great. This decade is really making a turn-around for the better.

TIS's buddy. Times Square's Naked Cowboy Suing for $6M Over 'Naked' M&M Wednesday, February 13, 2008 Times Square's Naked Cowboy is trying to take a $6 million bite out of a giant candy corporation, charging it stole his identity by dressing an animated blue M&M in his skimpy trademark outfit. The nearly nude street performer, whose real name is Robert Burck, has his tighty whities in such a bunch over a massive video billboard showing the candy in a white hat, boots, guitar and underwear that he's filed suit against the mighty Mars candy corporation. The case of Naked Cowboy vs. The Men From Mars will be heard in Manhattan federal court. Burck, who bills himself as a top Times Square tourist attraction, admitted he received warm congratulations for his candy-coated chocolate electronic alter ego and was initially thrilled to see proof of his impact on popular culture. "My initial response was like, 'Wow that's cool,'" said Burck, whose claim to fame is playing guitar at 45th Street and Broadway, strategically holding the instrument over his briefs to make him appear to be naked.

You know, I can't really say. I've never actually given him a chance, just because he's kind of a joke in the states; all of his American fans are mainly beer-thirsty frat boys who wear pink polo shirts and shop at American Eagle and Abercrombie, sort of to the degree of Dave Matthews Band.

I will say that I've heard about a third of one of his songs, which I didn't mind at all. His fan base just makes me a tad reluctant to look into him any further. But given your endorsement, I will check it out.

In Between Dreams is the perfect opening. "Good People", "Banana Pancakes", "Better Together", "Never Know", "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing", "Constellations" and other gems.

Right on. I'll check it out.

I'm a Jack Johnson fan so that sentence made me stop and think if that was me. But it's not. I actually don't know any other fans, other than Capo now, so I have a hard time believing frat boys of any kind are laid back enough to enjoy Jack Johnson. Capo is right, check out In Between Deams. "Banana Pancakes" and "Breakdown" are my two favorites although the whole album is great.

I have a hard time believing frat boys of any kind are laid back enough to enjoy Jack Johnson. Ever been to a Dave Matthews show, or seen some crowd shots in video-taped performances? It's the same crowd; Mostly metro-sexual college kids on football scholarships. But, I still enjoy DMB from time to time, so I will check it out.

Oh, but two of the best albums I've heard in a while, both of which to have been released in 2008 are The Helio Sequence's "Keep Your Eyes Ahead" and Vampire Weekend's self-titled album (the 11 track version... There's an EP by the same name which contains ten of those tracks, but is missing the best song on the album.)
And as Capo already knows, the new Silver Mt. Zion is fantastic.
