Tony is legendary for his temper and his ability to "make his own moves," but if you watch the movie closely and listen to Tony talk during some of the sit-downs, you'll find that Mr. Montana was actually a very intelligent business man. Except of course the bad business decision to start "gettin high on his own supply."

Yea, he was a very very smart and clever businessman. If you watch the deleted scenes, it shows Tony with Manny "making his own moves" around town. Pretty interesting stuff.
yea he was smart,ruthless and ambitious BUT that legendary temper made his demise much faster along with not being able to handle the problems that came with the power.
