Who have been some of the best women in either mob movies or tv shows?

My personal favorite was Sharon Stone in Casino. Her character was CRAZY!!! I loved it. I can still picture her freaking out. hehe.

Oh, I hated her!

Which is a testament to Stone's great acting. That character was supposed to be hated.

ive always liked Janice from The Sopranos.

The most annoying would be Louis "i cant fly anywhere without my lucky hat" from The Goodfells. That scene always makes me laugh and got Henry busted earlier than he would of.

Faye Dunaway as Bonnie Parker in Bonnie and Clyde is one of my favorites.

Lorraine Bracco as Karen Hill.

The most developed mob wife character ever.

Annette Bening ... Virginia Hill in Bugsy

Annette Bening as Virginia Hill in Bugsy is certainly a great choice as are all the goomars and strippers on The Sopranos.

Earlier I posted that Faye Dunaway was one of my favorites.
And after some serious thought, my ALL TIME favorite Gun Moll / Mob Woman is Margaret Wycherly who played Cody Jarrett's (James Cagney) mother, Ma Jarrett, in the classic movie WHITE HEAT.

Absolutely the best in my opinion.

Originally she wasn't supposed to be a regular on the show. However, when Nancy Marchant (Tony's mom) died, Chase had to sort of "replace" her character and decided that sister Janice would now become a regular. Of course Janice was no where near the character of Livia Soprano, but she did kind of replace Livia in that she became a thorn in Tony's side, just as his mother once was.

Hmm i didnt know DC,it's a shame she died as she played that part so well

Vito's mother. She even attempted to kill Don Ciccio with a kitchen knife

Marchand's last scene in the show was actually CGI, when Tony visits her in the second episode of season 3; the cut-aways to her reacting to what Tony is saying are the same ones seen earlier in the show.

(Marchand died in between seasons 2 and 3.)

Has anyone read Mafia Princess or other works by Mafia children? Do they discuss their reactions upon finding out that their fathers were serial murderers et al or their efforts at denial?
