This recent article describing how the Yankees fulfilled one of Billy Crystal's dream by signing him to play one spring training baseball game brings to mind:

If you could play any sport, for any team (if your sport is a team sport), what would you do and who would you play for?

For me, I would have liked to have been an Olympic athlete. I once had aspirations to compete in taekwondo, but injuries, school, etc had other plans for me.

To be on the mound in the ninth inning of Game 7 of the World Series with a one run lead, and striking out the final batter with the bases loaded on a 3-2 pitch.

To trade places with Billy Crystal on Thursday. \:\)

Since I'm so awful at any sport, if I was going to spend a day with the Yankees, I would want it to be during Spring Training when it doesn't count.

I remember how my heart sunk at that moment. An unmitigated string of profanity escaped from my lips, the likes of which still makes my sister-in-law recoil in horror.

Ditto for me in baseball. I would add that it would be an unhittable fastball just barely within the strikezone.

In football, it would be to quarterback my team down the field with less than 2:00 trailing by 4 points, with no timeouts, in a snowstorm at Browns stadium, and throwing the winning TD pass as the clock expired with a Super Bowl berth on the line.

Walking up the 18th hole on Sunday at the Masters, with a two shot lead over Tiger. We're both on in two, so the two putt to win is strictly a formality.

We're walking side by side, both smiling, the gallery in a frenzy at the remarkable show of good will by Tiger for walking with this 48 year old upstart. Stan the Caddy on my bag.

Pizzaboy, yours wins. I would pay to see good ol Stan walking the 18th at Augusta with you.

Maybe in my baseball description I should give a little "chin music," to the hitter, ala Kramer at the Fantasy Camp. ;\)

Hey, you own the inside of that plate!

When you come to NY, I'll give you a tour of Central Park, founded by Joe Pepitone.

I'd want to catch a pass from Peyton Manning that wins the AFC championship in overtime against the Patriots.

or...

I could play CB and tackle Tom Brady and end his career in an AFC championship game we win.

It has never been more evident that Longneck is a closet Patriot fan, with a serious mancrush on Tom Brady.
