Short pants and now a comeback like that. Is it worth it? Is it really worth it?

It probably depends on whether you're going for a $40,000 job or a $400,000 job

So you're gonna spend hundreds of dollars w/o a guarantee of getting the job? Did you at least go through some phone interviews so it looks likely you'd get it, or did they just say "come in and we'll talk"? If the latter, I'd think really hard about spending your money...

I'm looking for a job...the old guy I was taking care of is in the hospital now.
"Yankee bean, yankee bean, I... like... my yan-kee bean." Sorta, but I was getting $10 an hour to basically help him shower, get dressed, make his breakfast, look up porn on the internet for him, a snack in the afternoon, and that's it. Towards the end he kept getting worse and worse, he could barely move around anymore and he couldn't move that great to start with. So now that I am out of a job my car needs $500 worth of work plus new tires.

Not a good sign.... the company should pick up your travel expenses for an interview. That's what my father said. Here's a difference in price between this Thursday or Friday and next Tuesday. A flight on Delta on either this Thursday or Friday will run a little over $1,600. A flight on Delta next Tuesday will run a little over $400. Yeah, guess which one I'm going with. Don't forget to keep all records of such expenses associated with getting a job. They're deductible. Plane fare, taxis, meals, parking, etc. That's what I heard. Can I claim this trip as a business expense at the end of the year? I was also thinking today that maybe it's a test by the company. Maybe they'll reimburse me when I get up there and they just wanted to see if I'd make the sacrifice to meet them. Who knows?
