DB and JL need to watch out... it looks like Bronx Rams is serious about winning the "Most Moves" title this year.

Speaking of Bronx Rams and the other non-BB members, I looked up what JL mentioned about pitching starts and all four of those guys have used 19, 18, 17, and 17 starts already. The next closest is myself with 14 all the way down to AP who has only used 9 (apparently paranoid about using all his starts by the all-star break like last year ).

DB, I'm not sure if they saw your note on the league page yet, but should that be something you need to communicate to them verbally since you know them? I guess since it is on the league page then it's fair... it just doesn't seem fair for some reason (for them).

Glavine didn't even get a batter out before being relieved.

0.0 IP 3 H 2 ER 1 BB 0 K = -9 pts

If he's not hurt I may have to go down to Atlanta.

Yeah, a real Expos/Nationals "killer"

 Quote:

Braves’ Tom Glavine leaves start against Nationals in 1st inning

WASHINGTON (AP)—Atlanta Braves left-hander Tom Glavine left his start against the Washington Nationals with an apparent injury after failing to record an out in the first inning Sunday.

The first four batters Glavine faced reached base, on three hits and a walk, as Washington took a 1-0 lead. After throwing his 16th pitch, to get to a 1-2 count on Wily Mo Pena, Glavine walked off the mound, then briefly doubled over.

Manager Bobby Cox and an Atlanta trainer checked on the pitcher, and a few moments later Glavine walked off the field.

The Braves did not immediately announce what was wrong with the 42-year-old Glavine, who has 303 career wins.

Right-hander Jeff Bennett came on in relief and got Pena to ground into a 6-4-3 double play that scored a run to put Washington ahead 2-0. The next batter, Paul Lo Duca, flied out to end the inning.

...like I did.

Glavine leaves with strained hamstring
04/13/2008 2:20 PM ET
By Mark Bowman / MLB.com

WASHINGTON -- Tom Glavine was forced to exit Sunday afternoon's start against the Nationals in the first inning with a strained right hamstring. As Braves head athletic trainer Jeff Porter neared the mound, the veteran hurler bent over, apparently attempting to stretch his hamstring muscle.

After throwing a 1-1 pitch to Wily Mo Pena, Glavine walked toward the back of the mound in apparent discomfort. As Porter neared the mound, the left-hander bent over and appeared to point toward his right leg.

As he walked toward the clubhouse with Porter alongside him, Glavine didn't have a noticeable limp. His condition is considered to be day-to-day.

Glavine, who turned 42 three weeks ago, surrendered a leadoff double to Cristian Guzman and then saw the Nationals take a 1-0 lead when consecutive infield hits followed. After a walk to Austin Kearns, the abbreviated matchup against Pena occurred.

When the Braves signed Glavine in November, one of his most attractive qualities was his durability. Through the first 672 starts of his career, he has never been on the disabled list. He has made at least 32 starts during every non-strike-shortened season since 1990.

Sunday marked Glavine's shortest start since May 16, 1989, when he lasted just seven pitches against the Cubs before a sprained left ankle forced his exit. He returned to the rotation to start again on May 27

What's it going to take to get David Wright? I'll give you Bedard, and one of my regular position players.

That's one of the reasons I wanted a higher draft pick. I knew Wright would be worth a lot to Lou ;\)

Maybe we can get a three team trade done. Has that been done before in this league? Is it even allowed if it's fair?

How the flyin' F can they give an injured pitcher the loss with a line like that, when his replacement actually gave up one of those runs, and the next 3 over 4 innings??? -13

Luckily my offer of Hanley Ramirez for Jose Reyes was turned down.
My current 3rd baseman has 5 HR's and 15 RBI's, so 3rd base isn't a concern for me right now.

Dice K almost achieved what I think would have been a first for our league. Be a winning starting pitcher, and not have + points. He squeaked out a +2.

3rd base is where I've been trying to find someone stable. I screwed up during the draft and forgot I hadn't drafted 3B until pretty late.

Now, it doesn't matter who I start because the guy I bench has a huge day.

I appreciate the concern, BL. I wouldn't want those guys to feel as if they didn't know the rules. I'll address it with them.

You should know by now that I try to get as many good Met players that I can. Soooo, if you'd like Mark Reynolds, the major league HR and RBI leader, in exchange for Wright, just let me know.

Mark Reynolds is no where comparable to Wright, who's underperforming right now and is notorious for heating up as the season progresses -- the opposite of Reynolds. And while I could use the upgrade in the SP dept, I'm not sure if Bedard is enough. I had him last year and meh.

I think you're trying to pull a Sell-High/Bye-Low "LeBron trade" here!

How about a sell-low/buy-low trade. Sabathia is your man.
