I liked the novel much more. There were plot lines that emphasized certain points that was left out of the movie. Things were clearer in the novel, i.e. the reason behind the Don's peace meeting, and much more. But the movie is certainly a classic and brought the characters to life. Once you see the movie, you read the novel in a whole new light.

Yeah, I agree with Daniel Corleone. What I like about the movie most is that, you can finally get a clear image of what the characters look like. Does anybody know when the book was released exactly?

Voted for both the film & book, but the third film should never have been made. Sonny didn't have an illegitimate son with Lucy.... it seems that the main reason for GF3 was $ & £. Shame really because it should be good but I just look at it through these blinkerd eyes. Always kill a brother for revenge

To be honest, I can't remember where I read it or heard it. Although I do understand the rationale behind it; You annoy somebody so much that they are considering killing you, now they could do it or they may want to hurt you and your family so badly that they would kill a brother. This would leave you feeling remorseful and subdued. If your parents knew of this how would they feel towards you? Now this may have actually happened, I've read a hell of a lot of books, fact & fiction, seen films and documentaries. That sometimes I lose track of what, where and when. No doubt somebody will be able to put me right, it might even be from a book about english crime, and our feeble attempts to establish crime families. Don't worry though, I'll soon have a belter of a quote.

I voted for both, both are amazing...I just dont think its fair to compare a movie to the book...the book has more room to go into detail, and you arnt restricted by time. TND
There are men in this world who go about demanding to be killed. You must have noticed them. They quarrel in gambling games, they jump out of their automobiles in a rage if someone so much as scratches their fender, they humiliate and bully people whose capabilities they do not know. I have seen a man, a fool, deliberately infuriate a groop of dangerous men, and he himself without any resources. These are people who wander arround the world shouting 'Kill me. Kill me.' And there is always someone always ready to oblige them. We read about it in the newspapers everyday. Such people of course do a great deal of harm to others also. -Don Corleone about Luca Brasi

Both for sure, individually they are great, together they are powerful
Chris: "He could be out there stalking us right now..." -Paulie: "With what...his cock!
Tony Soprano : You're looking good. Looking better. Junior Soprano: Tony, if you're gonna lie to me, tell me there's a broad in the car waiting to tongue my balls. Tony Soprano : Hey, you want that, it's a phone call away.
