To Beth,Yesterday my daughter calls me from her cell phone and asked me, "guess where I'm going?" She was so thrilled to say she was going to see Bon Jovi at the Pond in Anaheim. One of her friends' sister was suppose to go but was sicker than a dog and had to give up her ticket. So her friend called her and "gave" her the ticket. How cool is that? I knew you liked Bon Jovi, so I thought of you right away. Btw, she loved the concert and is still in concert mode this morning. TIS

After drinking, some water and two aspirin or ibuprofen before bed go a long way toward lessening the next day's hangover. Gotta be careful with aspirin and other pain relievers if you're a regular drinker... read the bottle. The best cure besides plenty of water is to sleep it off. Trust me.

It's been years since I've had a hangover, but I dare say we can all relate. One thing I always hated is, everytime after an evening of drinking, I'd crash only long enough to "sleep it off" (usually 3/4 hours) and then was wide awake and yet dragging my ass all day long. I have always been a very light sleeper, and for the most part, NEVER am able to take a nap no matter how tired I am. But yea, I agree sleep is the best cure if you can. TIS

This is going to sound odd, but I ask this in all seriousness. Anyone know the legality in New York of getting in a public fountain and collecting change?
I know it's legal in areas of Canada.

But if you do go gas, there's nothing you can do if the air that was once you is mingled and mashed with the kicked up molecules of the enemy's former body. Big-kid-tested, motherf--ker approved."

Money is money... You've got to think how much money people just throw away, accumulatively, in there.
They wouldn't arrest me, I bet. I'd probably just get fined. And I'd probably collect more money out of the fountain than they'd fine me.
Yeah, I'm doing it.

Whatever trips your trigger. An AK47 trigger? I collected seventy-five Euros from the Trevi Fountain. And sixty from one right next to the Vatican. A practicing Catholic, temporarily.

I hate doing my taxes, and usually wait 'til the last minute (a few days before the deadline to start). I feel proud of myself that I actually just installed the software and plopped all my 2007 papers into a box! When I actually sort thru those papers and run the software will remain to be seen... it is only the 6th!

Yea, I know what you mean. I was able to claim my daughters through college. It was approximately 400/500 less in my refund check, as I dropped them. Now I've had to claim "single/head of household". The interest/taxes on pay for my home is the plus for me and THE major deduction. If it werent for that I'd probably never get a refund. As it is, for some reason, I always owe the state of CA between 50 - $150., but always get back at least $1,500 or more from the Feds. I think they need a way less complicated tax system to avoid all the confusion. But then, who is listening to me? TIS

It would probably depend on the fountain. For example, the fountain in our local mall collects the money monthly and donates it to various charities. If you climbed into that fountain and took the money, you'd probably be arrested for theft.
Otherwise, I'd go for it if I were you. Haha... I'm not that big a douche. If I really wanted to fuck with them, I would just take all the money and donate it to a different charity. But hell, I may as well do it.

I think they need a way less complicated tax system to avoid all the confusion. But then, who is listening to me? TIS I'm listening. I am a proponant of the flat tax(however with qualifications). I always do my taxes in February after I get all the documents I need but don't submit them until April 15 (via on-line). My goal is to try to break even or at the worst owe some $$ to the feds. I never want to get a refund back. I have been doing taxes on-line via Tax Cut fr six years now and it seems to work well. It is just a pain as I hae to complete two different state versions (Mo / KS). I have been audited three times and predict I will this year as well. S.B -- My wife works in a real estate office. There is one agent that automatically sticks 50% of her commission in a savings account or other investment opportunity everytime she gets paid. That way April 15 is not so difficult and she makes a bit more on interest. She told me she does not file quarterly as she manages that "tax money" and actually will invest it in short term bonds and CDs to make even more interst than a normal savings account.
