John Kobler, one of Capone's biographers (his is one of the best bios of Capone) makes the same point: Irish gals were glad to marry Italian guys because Italians weren't averse to marrying young, whereas Irish lads most often waited until they were 30 or older. BTW: Guinness Book of Records used to list Ireland as the nation with the oldest average age of marriage for men.
