Brooklyn, New York.
"The Borough of Homes and Churches" is the largest in population of New York City's five boroughs. It sits on the western end of Long Island and was first visited by Europeans in the early 1600's when Henry Hudson sailed up the river later named for him.
Its a place of immense diversity and its neighborhoods reflect those who live within them. Large groups of Italians, Irish, Jews, Poles, blacks, Hispanics, Chinese and Russians all live in relative peace and harmony.
We've had our share of famous folk - Al Capone was born here as was Michael Jordan. From the world of comedy we've contributed Woody Allen, The Three Stooges (Moe, Curly and Shemp Howard), Mel Brooks and Jackie Gleason. Boxing champs Mike Tyson and Floyd Patterson came from its streets as did music's Barbra Streisand, George Gershwin and Harry Chapin. Writers Walt Whitman, Isaac Asimov and Arthur Miller called it home and Carlo Gambino lived here for most of his life.
Turnbull, plawrence, Don Cardi and myself were born here.
