Nice enough to mow my back yard.

I got to use my new riding lawn mower last night and cant wait to mow again! It is raining nice and gently now so maybe I can do so tomorrow

My son cut the grass Saturday. It was fertilized Friday, and with the soaking rain Sunday, followed by 3 warm sunny days this week, it needs to be cut again.

The lawn is thick and green, but nothing compared to my next door neighbor, who lives for his lawn. He aerates, patches, overseeds constantly. Last year he installed a series of sprinklers throughout his lawn and divided it into zones. At designated times the sprinklers in various zones pop up and go to work, and he loves to watch them.

He loves to sit on his porch and watch the lawn. he told me once that if you watch closely enough and long enough, you can actually see the grass grow.

Very nice and (unseasonably) warm here today.

We've had a stretch of rainless days here with above normal temps. Thats nice BUT now we have a fire-danger (already have had numerous grass fires breaking out) and the pollen is extremely bad this season.

Whatever happened to April showers??

Klyd, I have to tell you that my relatives in Italy think that our American lawns are hilarious. They kept asking, So you seed it, water it, fertilize and cut it? Yes. And you just WATCH it? Yes. You can't eat it? No. And then they would almost wet their pants laughing.

Sort of puts things into perspective, doesn't it?

The weather is perfect here. Got the pool open early, although we haven't turned on the heater yet.

Beautiful here today also. But this weekend it's suppose to rain and go back to the low 60's. That's ok I won't be here.

I can't wait to start planting flowers and the veggie garden.
