Wednesday I rode my bike to the hardware store - 3 miles one way. I had my little back pack on for my purchases. So let's see, at 25 mpg, 1/4 of a gallon, I saved about $.75. But better yet I got some excercise and kept some money out of the pockets of those blood-sucking, scumbucket, worm-food, fece-licking, heartless, greedy, ****sucking, dog*******, swine-breath, gas-pimpin', oily gas bastards. .....whew! I feel better now.

MC, stop holding back and tell us how you really feel.
The sad thing is, I am doing some marketing consulting for a client of mine. It's .8 of a mile from my house. I could easily walk there, but there are no sidewalks, it's a fairly busy road, as it's near the entrance to the NYS Thruway, and I think I'd be taking my life in my hands. When they built suburbia, the downside of such things was not thought of, and the complete and utter dependence on the automobile was not a priority. I don't think anyone could have envisioned that it would be a problem.

I don't think anyone could have envisioned that it would be a problem. Did anyone envision the havoc that our industrialized society would bring to the environment? Obviously Not. And now, as our esteemed President has pointed our, we're all addicted to oil (what a brilliant man!) I recently read that many of NJs counties don't meet the current air quality standards, but they will get a reprieve to the year 2020 because of the cost. Just another example of head-in-sand, greed. Can you spell az-mah? About your sidewalk.....you live in the suburbs. They were designed for autos. How thoughtful .

(doing best President Bush voice) "Wow! It's that high? I had no idea!" I don't know if you're joking or not, but Bush was asked about the possibility of the gas prices rising to $4/gallon later this year and he actually responded that he hadn't heard they were expected to (go that high).

Mig, you're a very sweet lady and I'm genuinely fond of you, but I don't wanna hear about you getting gas. Why fart and waste it when you can burp and taste it?

The latest scam that I've encountered at a couple of gas stations is
"SORRY, OUT OF REGULAR UNLEADED!"
That means that people that normally use premium gasoline are turning to regular because it's cheaper and therefore the gas stations are running out of it before their next deliviery. But several scumbag stations in the surrounding area, fully knowing that some of these other stations were out of regular, raised the price of THEIR regular to almost as much as the premium! F**king price gouging bastards!
There is absolutey NO REASON for these high gasoline prices accept that the Hedge traders at many of these energy company trading desks, the foreign oil producers as well as these institutional fund traders have taken control over the electronic trading markets. This was allowed to happen because the one time open outcry floor existance of trading is basically gone now. At least when the majority of trading was done through the open outcry markets, there were more factors involved with trading and no one or two conglomorates could corner or monopolize the markets the way that they can now through electronic trading. Now the big boy oil companies and foreign scumbag oil producing countries are in total control of the electronic trading markets and can send the price anywhere they want to.
As good as electronic automation can be for us sometimes, it also can destroy us. In this capacity it's basically crippled our economy big time over the last year or so.
Don Cardi Five - ten years from now, they're gonna wish there was American Cosa Nostra. Five - ten years from now, they're gonna miss John Gotti.

Well, I have to tell you, DC. The local owners are fuming big time because Costco is now selling gas. It turns out that Rockland County law forbids selling gasoline to members only, so Costco is allowed to sell the gasoline to everyone. They don't advertise the fact, but they can't turn you away. I belong to Costco, so I never knew that it was open to everyone. However, the local paper had a front-page article about it. And guess who tipped off the local paper? One of the local gas station owners! He was so furious when he found out that Costco Gasoline was open to everyone that he called the local paper to complain about it! He's charging 40 to 50 cents a gallon MORE, and he's the one who let everyone know that they could buy gas there! Smart businessman!
