I know, it's just depressing when you see a bunch of teams jump out to such a large lead so early in the year like this.

FC's team seems unstoppable. DB and JL inch their way close each day with good pitching, but FC is very consistent offensively (and pitching) so far.

On the other hand, I have four third basemen because I can't decide who is going to have a good year or who is just on an early hot streak but will burn out. This is why I love and hate baseball at the same time... it's so easy to over-analyze.

For better or worse, I always start an ace unless he has terrible #s against some -- and even then I'll start him if his current numbers are good.

Anything can happen on any give day.

This game (baseball) has a lot of luck factors involved, though....

I almost benched Shields (45, vs Boston) and Lohse (21) in favor of Peavy (14) and Smoltz (-7) -- so much for my "Aces", both losing. My offense is pathetic, but I'll take a 100-point day.

From what I understand, if a player is picked up and dropped on the same day, that player remains a free agent for everyone except for the team who intially picked him up and dropped him. I believe they have this rule to prevent the "locking up" of players (i.e. some unruly manager can pick up and drop players (and thus put these players on "waivers") to prevent other teams from picking up free agents, if the procedure wasn't in place).
