Yeah... the kid is probably good for another 30+ HRs yet Casilla will likely revert back to 1 ER every other inning. Soto's been Da Bomb, tho. But it's basically a trade of Fielder for a catcher. Hmmm...

If no one else likes the trade, what can be done? I'd be willing to throw in another player (M. Jacobs) or replace Casilla with one of my closers (T. Hoffman or T. Jones).

Keep in mind though that Soto is the #1 catcher and Casilla is one of the best set-up men.

throwing Jacobs in it will make no difference and replacing Casilla for a closer like that (either Hoffman or Jones) is no guarantee either.

if both managers are aware of what they are doing I don't think this trade is bad enough for a veto but you could definitely get something better out of your backup 1st baseman, man!

Although I believe GB coulda, shoulda, woulda gotten more for Prince if he had shopped around, he is trading for positions of need and I know there's no collusion (he is my nephew, after all).

I really don't understand the trade from either team's point of view. FC doesn't need another 1B, yet he's giving up the current #1 fantasy catcher. On paper, he's getting a good deal, but now he must rely on a catcher who's currently batting .180, and another who plays part time.

I have yet to make a trade that wasn't a point of contention. Last year in one trade I got Mi. Cabrera and E.Renteria for E. Byrnes, J.Lugo, and T.Saito from JG. In another trade, I got R.Howard and C.Hamels for C.Utley and T.Hafner from DB. And now there's this one. All three times there has been some controversy. I guess this means that either I am really good at trades or really bad. \:\/

I don't think this trade is controversial. As the the person right behind you, it doesn't bother me at all. You're probably getting the better player, but at the same time turning what was a position that was very strong for you (C), into one which is now weak.

this is just too annoying in this game.

way more than a bunch of DNP in salary cap games. every time I'm changing those roster slots I know I'm affecting the poor guy's performance in the game.
