Things aren't looking good for Marvin Harrison. The investigation into the shooting incident with his gun in North Philly is on the back burner for the time being, as there is a department wide investigation to catch the second suspect in the killing of a cop on Saturday.
In light of this cop shooting the Philly police are particularly pissed at Harrison because the bullets from his gun, which were used in the earlier shooting, are designed to penetrate the specific body armor of the police.
Marvin Harrison is expected to be charged, and if convicted, will do state prison time. It would be sad if his possible Hall of Fame career ended behind bars.
Harrison's bar is no stranger to crime. Patrons are customarily frisked before they enter. His agent should have advised him to invest in another kind of venture. This doesn't sound like him at all...he has an alibi! He was in my wife's curio cabinet bobbling his head.

I$ there $omething that can $top a witne$$ from implicating a $u$pect in an a$$ault ca$e? That sounds about right. Marvin in jail would not be as lucrative for the victim as a lifetime donation into his bank acount for keeping his mouth shut.

The Cubs look like a machine right now. The Angels have impressed me most this season. Their #1 and #2 starters have been on the disabled list all year and nobody has a better record in the AL. In my opinion, Scioscia is the second best manager in the American League, behind Francona.

In my opinion, Scioscia is the second best manager in the American League, behind Francona. He is outstanding, and he is presently the manager with the longest tenure with his team in the AL. I put him in the top echelon of current managers with Jim Leyland. Francona is a great choice too.

Looks like the Knicks got their coach.
D'Antoni accepts offer to coach Knicks, by Peter Vecsey, New York Post
The Mike D'Antoni Era has begun.
The former coach of the run-and-gun Suns has accepted a four-year deal at around $6 million per year to coach the Knicks.
Knicks president Donnie Walsh chose D'Antoni over Mark Jackson.
The D'Antoni saga began Monday, when Suns general manager Steve Kerr confirmed that the coach had permission to speak to other teams about their head coaching vacancies.
Kerr acknowledged some differences with D'Antoni but repeatedly said he wanted the coach to stay.
"It's been well documented we have some different ideas and different approaches," Kerr said the day after the season ended. "And what we have to do is talk and communicate and make sure we can get on the same page in terms of how this organization can get better, how this team can get better."
D'Antoni has led the Suns to three Pacific Division titles and two trips to the Western Conference finals in his four full seasons as coach. He has compiled a 232-96 record, including 55-27 last season. But Phoenix has lost three times in the playoffs to San Antonio, including dropping a first-round series in five games to the Spurs this year.
The team had to adjust D'Antoni's full-tilt style to fit the arrival of Shaquille O'Neal, a process that was evolving at season's end. D'Antoni fully supported the trade that sent Shawn Marion to Miami for O'Neal because it was supposed to add interior toughness needed to get past the Spurs.
Instead, Phoenix blew one game, was soundly beaten at home and lost two more close ones against San Antonio. That left D'Antoni's situation in limbo and open to criticism about his short rotation, defensive philosophy and coaching staff.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Correct. Chuck Howley was also the only Super Bowl MVP from a losing team. Good guess on Randy White, goombah. He played a little before your time, but he wore #54, which was a linebacker number. He shared the '78 MVP award with felow defensive lineman, Harvey Martin as you said. Martin is the only Super Bowl MVP, who is deceases, having died from pancreatic cancer 6 or 7 years ago. A linebacker, who played well enough to win an MVP in the Super Bowl was Rod Martin, who picked off three Theismann passes to help the LA Raiders beat the Redskins in the mid-80s. Marcus Allen, however, set a rushing record in the game that was broken a few years later.

Dallas was my #2 favorite team after the Browns, particularly in the Staubach, Dorsett, Too Tall Jones days. I think you confused Rod Martin's performance with the one vs. Philadelphia. True, he returned Theismann's errant pass for a TD, but Martin picked off Jaworksi thrice. More useless info in my head...
