6 weeks to go!

I've had A. Ramirez as my 3rd baseman for the past four weeks or so (and had him locked in at a good salary) but I had to agree with Cocky's assessment that this was the last chance to get ARod at a relatively low salary, so I switched to him.

Who knows, it could be even lower next week!

Besides, despite A-Rod performing magic for me in last year's draft game, I don't want to take the chance of jinxing him now! (Of course, by my not taking him, he'll do you very well. ) In any event, if I'm going to ape his PS's, I need to take my chances on different hitting picks...

Regardless of PS, I don't think going 1-for-10 over 3 batters, plus 3 DNPs, are what makes a Top 2 competitor.

I'm happy I didn't drink the Diamondback Kool-Aid this week. there are still 4 games left and Washington isn't a great offensive team, so they may pick up some points still.

I was split between AZ and ATL Sunday, and my gut feeling was to go with the Braves as they have been playing very well. They lost two of three this week, but still got me 52 points. I'm glad I didn't read the Cockroft suggestion as it might have changed my mind.

with all due respect, the D-Backs were the best pick. they can get shelled for 45 more runs in the next games, but that's just baseball. I'm happy when I can find a decent PS with a reasonable match up and an ace going, and the Diamondbacks had the perfect matchup, two aces going twice each one and they're one of the best teams in baseball anyway.

I'm having my worst week yet -- 57 points (-1 for PS) in 3 days -- but still am #8 Overall. COCKcroft only dropped to 2nd, so that means I made some bad choices in hitters. I thought I made some good picks. #1 held onto the Rays PS for +52 pts. At least so far A-Ram is out hitting A-Rod.

Actually, it was all a hunch. As I said, if I read the Cockroft article, I would probably have been persuades to go with AZ. I had AZ for several weeksearly on and they are terrific, but seemed to me to start getting a little more ordinary. The Braves had been playing well and I actually thought they would win 5 or 6 games against Mil and Cin. They haven't won many games, but the pitching was there. Yes, I admit, it was mostly luck.

For whatever reason, that's hw I've been logging on recently. But 80 seems high.

Wow... what a difference one night could make. Arizona FINALLY won a game and some of my hitters came alive.
