They are both excellent movies, but very different. The brilliance of "Goodfellas" is how Scorsese presents a great story about street-level mob guys in short, punchy, fast-moving scenes. Plenty of mordant humor, too. "Casino" tells a bigger story about an industry (and some of the people who run it) in a longer, more structured way. Great performances in both films.
