This is gonna sound extremely dumb, but as someone who knows nothing about golf, when a golfer hits a ball at a far distance how do they know where it lands? You watch it. Many years ago my brother, my dad and I would play regularly. For a short time one of my dad's friends (who was just learning to play) would round out the foursome. He'd hit his ball and inevitably yell, "Hey Al, where'd it go?" It became a joke with us and some years passed when I saw him again. I hate to admit it but I couldn't remember his name so I just said, "Hey, it's 'Where'd it go'".

Didn't he have minor knee surgery a couple of months ago? He was supposed to only be out up to 4 weeks, so it doesn't seem like he should be playing with that much pain now. He has had more than enough time to recover. You would think so, but I guess the strain on the knee (because of the way he uses his legs so much in his swing) is more than they anticipated.

It's just amazing. Into the sand, into the rough, onto the green, automatic birdie. It just shouldn't be that easy. That's what makes him amazing, though. When he's "on" his game nobody can come close to him, but when's he's even "off" his game he still plays well enough to compete (and sometimes win). It was pretty obvious he needed a few holes to warm up and find his style. He started hitting the ball really well on the middle holes yesterday after playing fairly horrendously at the start. Even though he hit some really bad shots on the last few holes, he still had enough left to recover. Me, when I play a particularly bad hole I might as well throw in the towel for the round (it messes up my head). He's able to go to another place (like nobody else) and collect himself.

I'm a big fan of Tiger, but he's going to break Jack's record with or without today's playoff. It would be nice for Mediate if he won. It would. He seems like a genuinely down-to-earth guy with lots of charisma (he reminds me of his mentor, Arnold Palmer). Still, just to see Tiger win coming off his surgery would be spectacular. Currently, Tiger is up by 2 in the playoff and that doesn't bode well for Rocco. HOWEVER, Tiger seems to be all over the course. It ain't over til the fat lady sings.

He lucked out with that putt. How much longer is his luck going to hold out? Rocco isn't cashing in on the advantages he's been getting. I think the pressure is too much for him. Tiger isn't playing all that well BUT he's scrambling (and that's from experience in big tourneys plus an innate ability). OK... Rocco just picked up a stroke.

What if they finish tied after 18? Do they play tomorrow, or is there a sudden death round? Dunno.

Watch out for the blood pressure now. Mig, it's gotta be through the roof now. It's now hole-by-hole. The first one to score better, wins. (Advantage: Woods, right now).

Mig, it's gotta be through the roof now. Did it come out of the roof yet? I'm glad Tiger won.

Did it come out of the roof yet? I'm glad Tiger won. I am too, but at the same time I'm kind of sad that Rocco Mediate didn't win (if that makes sense). The roof?? It's gonna get REALLY wet soon... my area was just put under a severe thunderstorm warning. All hell is supposed to break loose here in about 30 minutes.
