...also worn by Curly and Shemp... You mean Curly and Larry. With Shemp the Stooges jumped the shark. Actually, Curly replaced Shemp. Shemp returned after Curly suffered a serious stroke in which he never fully recovered. ...They really jumped the shark with "Curly-Joe".

True, I thought that Shemp was a real brother while Curly wasn't... weird... but yeah... "Joe" lost it all...

Umm, Shemp was a REAL blood-brother... as I said... He was the older brother of Moe Howard and "third stooge" in the early years of the act. He would rejoin the trio in May 1946, after youngest brother Jerome "Curly" Howard suffered a stroke.

Moe, Shemp and Curly were all brothers. And all from Brooklyn, too! A little trivia - there was at least one movie in which Moe, Curly and Shemp all appeared together. After Curly had a stroke (and was replaced in the act by Shemp) Curly appeared in a scene involving a train (as an extra). He was "sleeping" in a train car with his hat over his head (and the hat was removed). It was sad to see him like that (it was very apparent that he had suffered a stroke).

There was another stooge in there somewhere, but I don't remember him. That was a guy named "Curley Joe" who appeared with the Stooges in the late 50's and early sixties when they enjoyed a resurgence in popularity. By then Shemp had died. Curley Joe famously said to Moe "I've always wanted to be thought of as a brother by you, Moe....a real brother." Other trivia: In the mid sixties, Moe claimed he invented the Beatle haircut
