First of all welcome to the BB! And a good question to start off. To answer, the book gives a lot more detail into not only Tom's background, but characters such as Luca Brasi and Johnny Fontaine. (Brasi's background, as well as Neri's, is fantastic, but I--with many others on here--find Fontaine's character follow up to be tedious and irrelevant to the story.) Oh, and MM, good to see you checking in now and again my friend. How is life? Nice one! Mick
