He - (Simón Bolívar) - was shaken by the overwhelming revelation that the headlong race between his misfortunes and his dreams was at that moment reaching the finishing line. The rest was darkness. "Damn it," He sighed. "How will I ever get out of this labyrinth!" So what’s the labyrinth? That’s the mystery isn’t it? Is the labyrinth living or dying? Which is he trying to escape - the world, or, the end of it?

I think it's Florida right? Of course your location under your avator is a good sign. I think a lot of FLA cities are "Palm" something. TIS

Have you ever watched a quiz show on tv? You know the answer to the question but the contestant on tv doesn't. Do you end up (like me) yelling the answer out at the screen and calling the contestant a "dumb shit"?? Does this have something to do with me saying to people what I am before they say it?

Just got done listening to my newly acquired copy of the Minutemen's Double Nickels on the Dime on vinyl. Definitely the best purchase I've made in a while.

Does anybody ever think of something interesting during their day and think to themselves "I should post that later on the BB". Then a week or two later it pops into your head again and you go to post it on here but then you wonder... "Did I already post this? I better not post it again. I don't want to look stupid for repeating myself." Then you do a search to make sure and can't find it anywhere, but you still aren't completely sure because maybe you just did a bad search?
I do. Haha, yes. But since your post requires an answer, it is ineligible in this thread. Please post again in a new thread.

To anyone who has ever thought electronic music is easy to make, you're gravely mistaken. Even I, while respecting it, perceived it as easier to compose than music utilizing live instruments and a band.
Now that I've been doing both, I think it requires just as much talent as it does to jam out with a live band. The emphasis on timing and structure is insane.

The emphasis on timing and structure is insane. Ummm... shouldn't that always be important??
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol Whaddaya want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? --Peter Griffin My DVDs | Facebook | Godfather Filming Locations

It just sort of flows when you're working with live musicians though, especially if you can connect with them. I think electonic music has to be much more premeditated, because since you're basically just collecting sounds to collage before you're satisfied and ready to blend them together in the recording process, you don't really know what the final product is going to sound like. With a band, I think you have more assurance.
That's the way it is for me, especially with Aeroplasty. I barely have to think about what I'm doing with those guys, because we were just so in sync with one another.

Has anybody here been keeping up to date with the Zimbabwe Crisis?
It's just took a turn for the worrying.
The second election had been held, where Mugabe is the only candidate after Tsvangirai pulled out, calling it "a futile attempt to promote legitimancy". Not all Mugabe supporters turned up to vote in the second election, and those that have had had their thumb stained red to prove they have been there.
"Operation Red Thumb" has started, to find those Mugabe supporters who did not vote. They will be beaten and/or killed. The European Commission has said it is powerless to do anything.
To solve this, the USA can't get involved(look what happens when they do - Somalia, Modaguishu, aka, Black Hawk Down). South African troops will have to cross the border and fight a war with Zimbabwe, probably unleashing other countries in Africa to join the conflict. Please post your Zimbabwe related articles here. Zimbabwe is woefully neglected when it comes to discussing world affairs.

You're probably right for the most part, but I still think structure and timing are important. I briefly played keys in a band in high school, but I didn't really know what I was doing so that didn't count much. But I've been with bands all my life. I also had the hobby of home recording a bunch of shit. Literally. Timing was always an issue w/ me - you either have it or you don't. It's weird w/ me, though. I may think I'm in time and in tune and might not be, but if anyone else is just a hair off, I can hear it immediately. You guys are pretty good, tho.

I've never really had that problem. I'm pretty critical of myself, actually. I'll think something sounds horrible, and have 10 people tell me it's their favorite part of the song, or their favorite song in the setlist, etc.
I don't have issues with my own timing... But I think what I'm getting at is, when I play with live bands, I don't have to focus on it at all, once I get going, I just sort of build strength, and focus less on what I am doing than I do what the guitars or drums are doing, or I'll try and isolate the vocal melodies, or whatever. With the stuff I've been doing recently, I'm still not having trouble, but because I'm used to ignoring myself as I do whatever feels right while simultaneously tapping into the other musicians, I'm actually focusing completely on myself for a change. It's just different, but I am working with it... And a lot of the more recent tracks I'm been compiling are rather electronic, utilizing all sorts of loops, samples, and highly processed sequences and whatnot, which sparked my initial comments.
But, you're looking at this from the standpoint of a guitarist, and I am thinking as a bassist. I'm all natural rhythm. I mean, I can play some complicated shit, and my style of playing bass is pretty funk/jazz orientated, but I still don't consider myself the center of attention the way I would regard a guitar part. They're two pretty different worlds, I think.
