That was a guy named "Curley Joe" who appeared with the Stooges in the late 50's and early sixties when they enjoyed a resurgence in popularity. By then Shemp had died. Curley Joe famously said to Moe "I've always wanted to be thought of as a brother by you, Moe....a real brother."
