Been wondering about this for some time -- what exactly is Michael's accent? I have heard that it's a NY/Italian accent however being a non-American I can't be certain. I've also noticed that Tom Hagen has a slightly different accent than Michael's. Strange how Mama Corleone's accent sounded more NY than Italian. Anyone cares to explain? Thanks.

Edit: did anyone notice that in GFIII Michael's accent has changed? Why is that?
