that's because you didn't see my team on the salary cap daily game. I have Shoppach, Alexei Ramirez, A-Rod, Quentin, Granderson, Bob Abreu and Garret Anderson for 85 hitter points. it's the first time I'll crack 100 pts on a non D/H day.

The LF position on my team must be jinxed. Matsui has been on the DL for the last two months and I lost both C-Lee and Crawford this weekend. Soriano should be very, very scared. ohwell

so my team name doesn't fit anymore...

that has already happened to me 2 or 3 times. that "you have too many players on the DL" message reminded of that onion.com article about the DL signing Mark Prior to a long term deal.

You traded for Lee and Soriano right? Last year you traded for Chase Utley and he ended up on the DL for a long period of time. I think it's about time we officially call this the "Douche Curse" where you trade for a player and he immediately gets injured (not to be confused with the "TM Curse" where every single player you draft goes on the DL).

You're the Oakland A's - famous for your second half runs to 1st place.

Well, The A's are famous for choking in the playoffs.

I'm not there yet. JL is tough to gain ground on and GB is matching me consistently each week. FC isn't that far behind either. If JL slumps this could be a very interesting finish!

Well, I lost yet another player (Duchscherer) today. I don't know how long I can continue to catch lightning in a bottle with these guys I find on the waiver wire.

I'm not sure. He left the game in the middle of the 3rd inning with an apparent arm injury.

Update: They say it's a hip injury.

Here's my Take on the top 4:
FC has faded mostly due to some questionable trades, and even more questionable roster management. (not having the full 5 RP's in the lineup everyday?)

GB is still a contender. A fairly solid team, with SP games in hand.

Bibble's SP is just awesome. Offense at several positions and so-so RP may cost him in the end though.

My team solid all around, but my SP is very streaky, and injuries have been mounting on a daily basis. Guys I picked up on the waiver wire to fill in have done an unbelievable job, but will it continue? My RP was by far the best in the league earlier in the season, but now I'm down to one healthy legitimate closer. I'm just trying to hold on.

DB just doesn't have a good team this year. He has a few underachievers, and very weak pitching. Your team on paper isn't that bad. Must be chemistry. tongue

I know how you feel about the RP's... I've been dealing with mine on the DL all year it's frustrating. I'm still undecided on whether or not it's worth it to draft or trade for closers because there are always new guys stepping up into that role and also good setup men available all year if you really look. I think it's more important finding guys that are consistent rather than a guy that has 40 saves but has a 5.00 ERA. That drove me crazy last year.

GB's extra GS's is what scares me about his team. And DB doing so bad really is a shock! He has done so bad that he's even turned into a homer! wink

I got lucky again. I picked up Slowey yesterday, and all he did tonight was go 7 innings, walk no one, and K 12. cool

Lucky waiver wire bastard lol

If you end up winning this year it'll be because of your waiver luck. It's been amazing so far.

Hey, you can't do well every year. blush

It all came down to the draft for me. Like JL said, my team was/is full of underachievers - the only draft picks I like are A-Ram in the 4th round, K-Rod in the 6th and McCann in the 7th. In fact, of the 25 players I drafted, I only have eight still on my roster and of the eight, I included Matsui who has been stashed on my DL since when, May??

I've been doing better in the last month or so (after I completed some trades) but I'm too far back to do anything.

Go Cubbies! tongue

Actuallly BL, in the "TM Curse" only your top draft picks get injured, not them all rolleyes

5 of my top 10 picks stayed significant time on the DL and I'm not including Curtis Granderson who spent the 1st entire month there.

I believe you all have way more experience than me in this kind of game, but looking at our draft it looks like none of us is an expert. in my case I rate my work that day at Z. if we can keep this league going for a few years we'll do a much better job in the future.

I believe the best sleeper has to be Josh Hamilton with the 151st pick!

I agree. You could also include me getting Carlos Quentin via free agency.

And right in my backyard too!! lol

I don't really have anybody that outperformed their draft slot. Fingers crossed, but I like my Liriano pick-up. Alexei Ramírez has been giving me a lot of points as well at the 2B position.
