Bob Dylan greatest hits That isn't so much an album as a compilation released for more money and/or a quickhand reference for beginners. My favourite album is probably Endtroducing... by DJ Shadow. It reaches emotional peaks most other albums do not, and gives me a strong and strange feeling of nostalgia, nostalgia mostly for a time and place I have never lived in. Or perhaps just a state of mind I have never lived through outside of listening to the album.

In 1953, an 18 year-old Elvis first walked into the Memphis Recording Service studios. The songs he recorded for Sam Phillips in the first few hours of that session are not precisely known but the opening track here, 'Harbour Lights' appears to be the earliest recording to have survived. The last song recorded on that first session, 'That's Alright', almost wasn't recorded at all. The story is told in the extensive liner notes by Sam Phillips' son, Knox. There are 19 of the young Elvis' very first recordings collected here. You really should quote your sources... where'd this text come from? You should indeed quote some of your sources and you also said, " Probley The Most Important LP in music history, this is where it all started." But as I'm sure you know DeNiro, there are lots and lots of opinions about where 'it' all started. According to wikipedia, "There is much debate as to what should be considered the first rock & roll record. Sister Rosetta Tharpe was recording shouting, stomping music in the 1930s and 1940s that in some ways contained major elements of mid-1950s rock and roll. She scored hits on the pop charts as far back as 1938 with her gospel songs, such as "This Train" and "Rock Me", and in the 1940s with "Strange Things Happenin Every Day", "Up Above My Head", and "Down By The Riverside." Another artist who was singing hard-rocking blues/gospel to a boogie piano was Big Joe Turner, whose 1939 recording, "Roll 'em Pete," is almost indistinguishable from '50s rock and roll. Other significant records of the 1940s and early 1950s included Roy Brown ("Good Rocking Tonight", 1947), more Big Joe Turner ("Honey, Hush", 1953, and "Shake, Rattle and Roll", 1954), Paul Bascomb ("Rock and Roll", 1947), and Fats Domino ("The Fat Man," 1949). Rolling Stone magazine argued in 2004 that "That's All Right (Mama)" (1954), Elvis Presley's first single for Sun Records in Memphis was the first rock and roll record[1]. " Obviously you are a Rolling Stone reader. EDIT--(BTW I admire your musical selections very much. )

Bob Dylan greatest hits That isn't so much an album as a compilation released for more money and/or a quickhand reference for beginners. Yeah, pretty much. But I still wouldn't recommend this one for beginners...it's too minimal.
Hey, how's it going?

James Blunt-all the lost souls 2007 1973 One Of The Brightest Stars I'll Take Everything Same Mistake Carry You Home Give Me Some Love I Really Want You Shine On Annie I Can't Hear The Music James Blunt has returned with another superb album! I would even go as far as saying that this CD is better than "Back to Bedlam." This is full of great tracks, including the ever-famous "1973", but several great new ones. "One of the Brightest Stars", "Same Mistake", "Give Me Some Love", "Annie" and "I'll Take Everything" are some of the best!

DeNiro, They advertise this album on tv. I never heard of this group but I really like the one song I hear them sing but can't think of which one. I saw them last week on Jon Stewart as well singing another song. Not bad, but I really like the one song. I think it's the "La Vida....." or maybe "Lost" Or TIS

Even though he's a weirdo now, I loved Michael Jackson's, "Thriller".
I love Elvis Presley's Greatest hits cd, and Bon Jovi,"Slippery When Wet"

Yea, I like all those too Beth. My kids had the Bon Jovi and I think it's on a cassette tape. Michael Jackson's Thriller definitely fantastic. A shame how his life turned out, but you can't deny his talent. Elvis, well I like anything he does, which greatest hits? He had several. then again, mine were on albums. TIS

Yeah thats a good one, that is there hit in the UK, they are a very good band. This is there forth studio album, they are defintly one of the best band of the new century here in the UK. They have one of those distinctive sounds. Are they from the UK? I heard them sing last on Jon Stewart, but never heard them speak, so no idea where they are from. TIS

Elvis, well I like anything he does, which greatest hits? He had several. then again, mine were on albums. TIS I don't know "which" greatest hits. I have it on cd, and it's blue, with pictures of him all over it. I think it has 18 tracks, including: The Wonder of You; Love Me tender; Can't help falling in love with you; Heartbreak Hotel;Spanish eyes...all the good ones.
