I know, it's the same here in Belgium. Differences are even so big that people at my side of the country (the east) often can't even understand people from the west (which is like 120 miles away), altough they're actually speaking the same language.
I live 5 minutes from Oakland and I can't understand half of what most of the people there are saying. Ebonics sucks.
