But batman fights crime, not just gangsters. One could argue that superman is in a gangster theme then too.

I'm a little bit biased because it's half a battle between my mate and I and this is the way that we were to sort it out, by peoples opinion in a forum.
I can see the link but I didn't want to allow my mate to have any leverage in his arguement.
Does this allow too much choice in costumes that the party could lose its original gangster theme and turn more into a superhero theme? Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I smell foul play, and it is also strange that the three people posting here (excluding Whisper) have sequential member numbers (i.e. 5117, 5118, and 5119)
I believe JG should run a IP address check
He - (Simón Bolívar) - was shaken by the overwhelming revelation that the headlong race between his misfortunes and his dreams was at that moment reaching the finishing line. The rest was darkness. "Damn it," He sighed. "How will I ever get out of this labyrinth!" So what’s the labyrinth? That’s the mystery isn’t it? Is the labyrinth living or dying? Which is he trying to escape - the world, or, the end of it?

RICO predicates are mentioned in The Dark Knight. Gotham's biggest crime threat pre-Joker is the Mafia. But these are peripheral features of the narrative; padding, so to speak. "Gangsterism" is hardly a theme, though. Crime is a theme in the Batman universe - the character itself is a "Fighter of Crime", but it's not specific to organised crime, not in the way that GoodFellas is. I'd say no.
...dot com bold typeface rhetoric. You go clickety click and get your head split. 'The hell you look like on a message board Discussing whether or not the Brother is hardcore?

A travesty? Not at all. Batman isn't really a superhero, he's a masked vigilante, in my mind. I consider him in the same league as the anti-hero's of Sin City.
Plus, just look at his enemies. The Joker is a gangster for sure. Two-Face has been depicted as a gangster numerous times as well, despite his past as DA. It's arguable for the Penguin as well. Oh, and who remembers Scarface, the ventriloquist?
Then there are a handful of stories where Batman isn't even fighting his over-theatrical nemesis', he's just fighting plain old gangsters.
By the way, what's wrong with you people? You really want to end this? What the hell are we going to laugh at without schizophrenic posting?
And in regards to Nolan's revival of Batman, it has to be the most gangster-orientated superhero film around, as the mafia has had a very strong presence in both films so far.

"Somebody told me when the bomb hits, everybody in a two mile radius will be instantly sublimated, but if you lay face down on the ground for some time, avoiding the residual ripples of heat, you might survive, permanently fucked up and twisted like you're always underwater refracted. But if you do go gas, there's nothing you can do if the air that was once you is mingled and mashed with the kicked up molecules of the enemy's former body. Big-kid-tested, motherf--ker approved."

Actually, any true party-goer knows it is cooler to spell it "KRUNK."

Actually, any true party-goer knows it is cooler to spell it "KRUNK." It's a matter of preference, man.

Crunk is when you are drunk and high simultaneously. Then, somewhere in the new millennium, a bunch of immature, mediocre rappers thought it would be cool to call their music, "krunk," and as a result, most FM radiostations in America are filthy with really bad hip hop that sounds like it was sampled on a Casio keyboard that was purchased at Toys'R'us and runs on triple-A batteries.
