Calling someone a jerk is about as offensive as calling them a dork or a pinhead. It's something you'd only hear used in a serious context by middle-aged housewives, Christian librarians, and people who were in their prime in the 50s.
"Somebody told me when the bomb hits, everybody in a two mile radius will be instantly sublimated, but if you lay face down on the ground for some time, avoiding the residual ripples of heat, you might survive, permanently fucked up and twisted like you're always underwater refracted. But if you do go gas, there's nothing you can do if the air that was once you is mingled and mashed with the kicked up molecules of the enemy's former body. Big-kid-tested, motherf--ker approved."

Nothing hurts like an ego scorned.
Friends and I are looking into an NYC trip next August. Who wants to buy me a beer?
Just remember what pop taught us. I don't quite understand the intention behind the juxtaposition of those two quotes. Much less your reply. I stand by my first statement, and certainly stand by my second. What does a Godfather quote have to do with anything?

I think what he meant was, "You are a pussy."
You should kick his ass.

I'm not a big fan of physical pain, especially of the "excruciating" kind. I've had a chronic shoulder pain for oh, like 3-4 years now, which I think is due to leaning on my left elbow all the time (at my desk hours at a time, in the car, etc). It comes and goes, but it's almost unbearable right now! And to top that off, ever have a bad toothache? Yup. Add that to the mix, and I'm NOT a happy camper right now! I had the shoulder x-rayed a couple weeks ago and should get the results on Tuesday. I can't take much more of this...
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol Whaddaya want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? --Peter Griffin My DVDs | Facebook | Godfather Filming Locations

Geoff, I did notice you weren't around yesterday. I can only imagine if the shoulder pain is anything like horrible back pain, I sure feel for you. What the hell does it take two weeks for x-rays? And,did the doctor give you anything for the pain? Obviously not if you're this miserable. I've been there with the toothace problems as well. Man, when it rains it pours hu? Take care of yourself. I hope you feel better soon. TIS

I really sympathize with you. I have chronic shoulder pain that comes and goes from an old collarbone injury. It sucks.

The x-ray was done 2 weeks ago, but my follow-up appt is tomorrow. I figure if it's bad news he'd've called, right? Or is it the opposite? Finally fell asleep around 5am or so probably. Even Aleve didn't help much, and I took 2 an hour apart. Usually it helps, but this time it was really bad. It's its normal "unpleasant but bearable" at the moment.

Back in my convenience store days, 11pm-7am was funnest, to say the least! Nothing like a bunch of drunks after bars closed to sell subs, condoms, and caffeine pills! 7am-3pm wasn't too bad sometimes, but getting up early for the morning rush was meh. 3pm-11pm was kinda a wasted day since you couldn't really do much, and there wasn't any nightlife. The best shift I ever had was when I was counseling, 11am-7pm (usually done by 6pm)... didn't have to get up early, and was home early enough to have a nightlife. The worst was ~9am-6pm, but I was 1.5+ hrs away so really left the house at 7am and got home at 8pm. The job was GREAT, but those hours sucked.

Boy, I am sure glad that I've never had such "odd" hours. All of my working life I have basically had a 8 - 5 job (currently 7:15 - 3:45). Not only that, I have never had a job that required Saturday or Sunday work. I couldn't stand working on a weekend. TIS

I used to work 8 am - 1 pm and Mr. Babe worked 2-11 pm. Needless to say, we hardly ever fought! But it was the only way we could bring in two salaries and not have to pay for childcare. Then he worked the night shift for about 4 years, 11 pm-7 am. The advantage for that was you hardly ever had to make the bed! One of us was almost always in it! On his two days off, though, he would have to try and readjust to sleep at night, and then go back to sleeping during the day, and we had just had our youngest, who didn't sleep through the night until she was almost 8 months old and not having anyone around to share that with SUCKED. Plus, he had to work weekends and holidays, too. Not a fun time in our lives.
