I'm lucky enough right now that I don't to have work. I love working. I am just not the type who can stay at home. I have plenty of friends who do, but I tried it for six months and almost blew my brains out. Since I can work from home a couple of days per week, I think that I have the perfect blend right now. Geoff - when is your doctor's appt.?? I already answered the PM, but for the rest of yooz... I went today and the x-rays came back normal, so now I have to see an orthopedist to look into it further... My cholesterol is still very high (271, but down 4 pts from '06!  ) but he wants to do a liver test before putting me on meds. Great. ME, a liver test!

Glad the X-rays came back normal at least. What do they do for a liver test???  (if I'm not getting too personal) They carve a piece off and serve it with some fava beans and a nice chianti!  OR, it's just another, more specific, blood test.

TIS, when you're on meds for high cholesterol, like Zocor or Lipitor, it can affect your liver. Mr. Babe's cholesterol has been in the upper 200s since he was in his 20s (which means probably all his life). He's been on meds for years, and has his blood tested every 3 months to check his liver enzymes.
Geoff, I know that diet and exercise are supposed to reduce it, but after months of cardio (we bought a treadmill) and cutting almost all fat from his diet, it still only went down to 240. He ended up on meds, and his latest test, it was 180. Sometimes, it's just genetic, as I'm sure your dad will tell you.

Cholesterol meds also deplete your body of the essential enzyme CoQ-10. If your doctor hasn't recommended it as a supplement (and a lot of doctors fail to do so), do some research on it. It's ESSENTIAL for cardiac health. It'll run you about $30 a month in GNC or your local drug store. I wouldn't even think about taking a statin without it.
