Actually, noone on the Board can state what gasoline prices should be because the price of gasoline or anything else at retail is the consequence of the seller's business model. Price recommendations by Board members are only what they would like them to be (unless you hold the appropriate decision-making position as the owner or employee of the retailer)

Why do people find it so extremely hard to either admit they made a typo or a spelling mistake, or just ignore someone who pointed one out?

I paid $3.99 this morning. It's the first time I've paid less than $4.00 in over two months.

Their psychology must be working. I found myself saying to the attendant that if it ever gets to $3.50 again, it won't be so bad.

I think the gas companies got us so used to paying over $4, that we'd now welcome $3.50.

It's down to about $3.50 here now and it's about $3.30 in Missouri.

Where in Mass?

Prices went down a bit here, only $8.64 a gallon.

From what I've seen, it's been that all around the South Shore area, about 10-20 minutes out of Boston.

Down here in the Garden State, within a 10 miles radius, I saw regular for $3.41 to $3.72. Crazy.

Don't spoil the party with European comparisons

I know, but after all the beans I ate I'm having some gas. It's no fun so out of frustration I decided this was the best thread to vent.

Where I am, the lowest price is $3.39 and the highest is $3.59.

I filled up for $3.51 today.


We went on vacation three weeks ago. Drove from Ohio, through PA, DC, Maryland, to North Carolina. In D.C. it was the highest, by far, at $4.27. Everywhere else the price ranged from $3.69 - 3.89.

Fill up now. Oil is back up to $120 p/barrell and the Russians show no signs of backing off in Georgia.

What happened to the good old days when gas prices changed every 6 months? It's those freakin' speculators messin' with our heads and wallets. or it's JOhn Obama, or those Saudi-Iraniaquis, or John Paul Getty, or the Exxon Tiger, or Vladimir Poopin, Chavy Chavez. One thing for sure, I know it's not me.

It's even worse since this morning; oil's up $6, over $121.

3.65-3.75 today.

This afternoon it went up from 3.53 to 3.79. Did the price per barrel go up or are the speculators freaking out cuz of hurricane Ike headed for the gulf?

Oil's at $104. You've got to figure in some lag time.
