Grocery store. I was on night crew 10p-6,7,8,9,10 am but then asked to be moved to 3-11 because my wife moved to 2-10 and it was hard to deal with being on different schedules like that.

I get moved to the frozen department a week later than they told me I would be and then after doing that for one week I get called in the office to say I'd be going back on midnights on Monday.

Fuck that.

Between that, getting paid 75 cents an hour less than the new guy ($1500 a year!), and a whole bunch of other shit...



Movie was good....for me. IMAX wasn't worth the price. Restaurant was bad, we remembered why we like staying in. They had a good dessert and that was it. Elephant ear with a big scoop of vanilla, sprinkled with cinnamon, sugar, drizzled with chocolate, strawberry, and carmel sauces on the whole thing.

My wife went to a house party last night.

She got drunk with a bunch of lesbians and ended up dancing the night away to Abba in the kitchen

She said she regrets it this morning.

I don't know which bit though,the excessive alcohol consumption or the disco gyrations with the lesbians

I believe that tomorrow is the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. As we speak, Tropical Storm Gustav seems to be headed right for New Orleans.

Those poor people. May God watch over them.

Some of the models are showing that Hurricane Hanna may well affect that area as well.

They're predicting that Gustav may reach a Category 4 or even a 5 status. (Category 5 is the highest on the scale).

I'd hate to think what that would do to the Gulf coast.

I got the shit kicked out of my place in Florida last week. They called it a "Tropical Storm," rather than a hurricane. The contractors certainly don't differentiate on their repair prices.

I was very worried about the storm in Fl. With my dad being so sick I was afraid he would have to get out. Thank God he just got rain out of it.

PB, I hope you get everything worked out with your house there.

If the hurricane hits the Gulf coast be prepared for higher gas prices than what they are now.

Thanks, Miggie. I haven't been down there yet. My neighbor down there, who is a close friend, is handling it for me. From what he's told me, there's no structural damage. Just a big mess; some water damage, etc...

As long as it's ready for the winter, I'm happy. Almanac says it's goinna be a rough one up here.

I know the feeling of what it is like when a hurricane hits and your not there to take care of the damage. That happened to me and the Col when a hurricane (I forgot the name) hit the Hampton Rds. area of Virginia. Thank God I had neighbors there to help me as well. Most of the damage was outside and not to the house.

Every person I've met from hurricane areas say they prefer them over earthquakes.

I've yet to spend a single penny on something that broke during an earthquake.
