The picture quality is somewhat better than the old DVD set (but not exceptional).
I chaptered through the first disc and didn't really notice a
striking difference. In fact, it looked a bit washed out in spots. I assume it's intentional. I'll have to take some side-by-side snapshots to compare them when I get some time... but I'll be pissed if I basically spent $62 for 87 minutes of new features.

But the main intent, of course, was to restore the film itself, which I applaud them for!
Can't wait 'til JL lets us know how the Blu-Ray version came out.
