I have no sympathy for OJ but I have a feeling though if he serves at all, it'll be a short sentence. Even though he got off the first time, these offenses seem like small potatos compared to murder and we can't expect a murder sentence. Nonentheless, yea, especially for the Goldman's sake, (not to mention some form of justice) I would like to see him serve a significant amount of time. I just have my doubts he will. TIS

Really? I didn't read the full charges, admittedly. Well, I hope it is 20 then. Yet, I feel confident he'll probably appeal or get a new trial, don't you think? In other words, he won't go down without a fight. TIS

Probably a question for our attorneys like Klydon, but can the Goldman family now obtain their money from OJ if he is in jail? My gut tells me no, that his assets do not change from being protected (particularly his NFL pension) whether OJ is behind bars or not. In all honesty, Goombah, they probably weren't ever going to collect a nickel off of that piece of shit anyway. Why do you think he moved to Florida? It's the one of easiest states in the nation to protect your assets in. I'm sure that the Goldmans would rather have him in jail. I'm sorry, my question was not clear. I know OJ did everything in his power to not pay the Goldman family. What I want to know is can they grab his assets (similar to wage garnishment or even a bankruptcy judgment) now that OJ is headed to the slammer? Anybody else think it's funny how none of the "Dream Team" lawyers (except for the deceased Cochran) stayed far clear of this case?

Hi Goombah, nice to see you back. Hope you are well. I am hearing now on MSN that the OJ lawyers are saying that this jury was predisposed to convict OJ because he got away with murder the first time. Is anyone really surprised? I'm with the majority here and want to see OJ punished, but putting on my PLaw hat, and trying to be completely fair, isn't it possible??? We all want him to fry. Then again, it's sounds so unbelieveable that poor little OJ always seems to get "bad" jurors. How many times can that be used? TIS

According to the Goldman family lawyer, he's even going after OJ's 85 cents an hour prison wages.

I can't believe how stupid this guy is. I mean, If you got away with with murder, you think the smart thing to do would be to lay low and keep a low profile. Not go out and start robbing people.
What a Turnip. If you can get away with murder, why not try robbery? Longneck logic??

Doesn't robbery normally precede murder to those who are criminally minded? I mean it should be a natural progression. You start off with vandalism and petty theft, then stealing cars and other things that are more valuable, then when you're finally ready you work your way up to killing your wife and her boyfriend in cold blood. After having committed this most heinous of crimes, due to your wealth, fame and status you ensure that you aquire the services of the best legal team money can buy and get off. Then after a few years you see some stuff that clearly doesn't belong to you, steal it and due to various reasons get convicted and spend the rest of your miserable life in prison. Ah...O.J. Simpson, quite the Running Back eh?

What a Turnip. If you can get away with murder, why not try robbery? I remember Howard Stern put out one of his books, Miss America, back in 1996, shortly after the O.J. criminal trial verdict. O.J. was once affiliated with the owners of Howard's radio station. O.J. and Howard were at a party together and somebody snapped a picture of the two. On the back jacket of Howard's book, it read "Getting Away With Murder."

O.J. Simpson faces 6 years to life at sentencing By KEN RITTER
LAS VEGAS (AP) — O.J. Simpson is going to prison; the question is for how long.
The 61-year-old former football star who walked away a free man after a celebrated murder trial was due to learn Friday how much time he'll spend in a Nevada state prison for a botched attempt to recover sports mementoes and personal items from two collectibles peddlers.
Neither Simpson, who was acquitted of the 1994 slayings of his ex-wife and her friend in Los Angeles, nor his co-defendant and former golfing buddy, Clarence "C.J. Stewart, testified at trial. They were convicted Oct. 3 of 12 criminal charges, including kidnapping and armed robbery, and face mandatory prison time — a minimum of six years and up to life.
Simpson attorney Yale Galanter has said his client won't address the court. Stewart will, said his lawyer, Brent Bryson.
"Best-case scenario we're hoping for is six years. That's the bottom-end number before being eligible for parole," Bryson said.
District Attorney David Roger is not expected to call witnesses, spokesman Dan Kulin said.
Simpson lawyer Gabriel Grasso said Clark County District Court Judge Jackie Glass would likely keep the proceedings short.
"She wants to hear from the lawyers and she wants to hear from the defendants. That's about it," Grasso said.
Fred Goldman and his daughter, Kim Goldman, the father and sister of Ronald Goldman, were among 15 members of the public allowed in to the courtroom. Most of the 63 seats were taken by media, lawyers and family members of the defendants.
Ronald Goldman was slain along with Simpson's ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, in 1994.
His father declined to comment on Simpson's sentencing until after the hearing.
Judges in Nevada have broad discretion in determining whether to run sentences consecutively or at the same time. Glass, known for giving severe sentences, can ignore or accept a recommendation from the state parole agency calling for at least 18 years.
She received written pleas for leniency from defense lawyers and was expected to rule on a request to let Simpson post bail and be freed from jail while he appeals his conviction. The judge already denied the men's request for a new trial.
"Notwithstanding the jury verdict, Simpson continues to maintain his innocence," Grasso said in a brief seeking his client's release.
Jurors who heard 13 days of testimony said after the verdict that they were convinced of Simpson's guilt because of audio recordings middleman Thomas Riccio secretly made of the Sept. 13, 2007, Palace Station casino hotel confrontation with sports memorabilia brokers Alfred Beardsley and Bruce Fromong.
"Don't let nobody out of this room!" Simpson commands on the recordings, and instructs other men to scoop up items he insists had been stolen from him.
On Tuesday, Glass is scheduled to sentence four former co-defendants who took plea deals and testified against Simpson and Stewart. Michael McClinton, Charles Cashmore, Walter Alexander and Charles Ehrlich could receive probation or prison time. McClinton could get up to 11 years; the others face less.
AP Special Correspondent Linda Deutsch contributed to this report.

... then when you're finally ready you work your way up to killing your wife and her boyfriend in cold blood. .... Haven't you all watched Shawshank Redemption? Everyone in the court thought Andy was a cold blooded murderer of his wife and her lover, who deserved multiple life sentences. OJ might be innocent Sure, he might be. But innocent is not a jury finding. It's either guilty or not guilty or non-unanimous. Such is based on the evidence presented at trial.
