When I was in college, I worked for a pool man one summer up in Greenwich. It was, by far, the HARDEST job I ever had.

Hey! It's difficult rolling out of bed in one room, then walking all the way to another room to sit all day!

As for pools, I grew up with a big inground pool that my brothers and I took care of. No, it wasn't necessarily "fun" vacuuming it on a hot summer day, but other than that it wasn't so bad.

You want a hard job? Try putting up those bigass party tents, swinging a sledge hammer into 3-foot metal spikes into the ground. That was the hardest job I ever had, working Summers at a friend-of-the-family's rental store in high school. I get tired just thinking about it now.

I'm talking about building pools, you meathead. Laying the cement, etc ... Not skimming them with a net!

And try doing it for those snobs up in Greenwich, CT.!

The album, more than a decade in the making, is the first new release of original material since 1991 for the group. In the long span that has elapsed, only one original member of the band from its 1987 debut album remains: singer Axl Rose.

To go back to the retirement theme!
I was talking to a patient last night,a really nice guy who has to come in 3 times a week for dialysis. He has had all sorts of health problems and had to have one leg amputated below the knee! Through it all he has kept on at work but it has finally become to much for him and he is being forced into early retirement. He is only 50 and was telling me that he is dreading it. The only thing that has kept him focused through his problems has been work. "What am i going to do now?" he told me. "Sit in the house all day waiting for a fucking kidney?".

When he was telling me this i felt grateful to be fit and healthy and capable of going to work every day.

P.S. Only 27 and a half years to go till my retirement date

Retirement shoud give one choices. That's how I approached it. I teach now and that is my choice. I did some consulting work for awhile years ago, but decided it was more than I wanted to do. So, now only teaching. Plan it right and you'll have choices.
