I say beat him to pulp, bury him, exhume the body, make sure it is dead, beat it to pulp again, bury it again. And repeat. You're getting carried away. There'd be no reason to exhume the body.

I'll have to lock the thread if it keeps straying
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol Whaddaya want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? --Peter Griffin My DVDs | Facebook | Godfather Filming Locations

I guess I missed this thread for some reason. When I think of Veterans Day, I think of my Dad, who is a Korean War veteran (Purple Heart and Bronze Star). I had lunch with him and a few of his buddies at a VFW Post up in Yonkers the other day. Spend five minutes with these people and you'll never even joke about not supporting the troops again.
I don't know, LLC. I've stuck up for you time after time in the past and now I feel like a horse's ass. I'm thinking that you probably just made your post to get a rise out of some of the older posters here, but some things are in such poor taste, that you just shouldn't even joke about them.
You can say or post whatever you want in this country because of your First Amendment privilege. You have have a First Amendment privilege because we are a free country. We are a free country because of the troops that you so callously insult.
I've been as outspoken as anyone about the Bush administration and the war in Iraq, yet I have nothing but gratitude and respect for the young men and women who are making it possible for me to do so many of the things that you seem to take for granted. Do you think that you could say or post what you please in a country like, say, Cuba, or so many of the war torn countries in the Middle East?
You only get to make these ridiculous posts because the troops, who you so blithely dismiss, are making it possible for you to do so.

I remember when I was in school that we got that day off. Not no more. "Not no more"? That must've been the day they taught double negatives. It's kind of sad that the holiday has been relegated to a minor one. That ties in with my "Space 'Em Out" theory, though. Look on a calendar for the "major holidays"... they're spaced out fairly evenly. After New Year's (not including MLK Day) we have President's Day (a combination of Washington and Lincoln's birthdays; they were separate holidays when I was a kid). OK, that's about six weeks. Then you have a lag (not including Easter) until Memorial Day (now a three day weekend). Wait 5 weeks for Independence Day. You go through the summer without a holiday (but that's when most people will vacation anyway) until Labor Day. Not counting Columbus Day as a major holiday we then wait until Thanksgiving and then, of course, Christmas. We're due for a big holiday in March and October.

Does anybody remember ditto machines? Are they still used at all? They would pass out "ditto's" in class and the blue ink would smear on your fingers sometimes. And um... If it wasn't for the troops we wouldn't have such luxuries as ditto machines.

We just have to oversell St. Patrick's Day and Columbus Day. Earth Day never made it. One of the great "holidays" celebrated in Boston is September 17th "Half way to St. Patrick's Day."
"Io sono stanco, sono imbigliato, and I wan't everyone here to know, there ain't gonna be no trouble from me..Don Corleone..Cicc' a port!"
"I stood in the courtroom like a fool."
