FedEx was the largest client for my former company. We actually had to watch a film about FedEx and its founder Fred Smith. He actually did keep the company going on winnings from gambling when the banks wouldn't extend his credit. And he conceived the company in a college paper, and was told by the professor that it was bound for failure because he insisted that every single package be routed through the company's hub in Memphis, TN.

I don't know if this is true today, since the company has grown so much, but at one point, even if you were sending an overnight package to someone on the other side of Toms River, the package would still have gone through Memphis.
